"In my last performance review, my supervisor highlighted that I am very collaborative and eager to assist my peers. As far as a weakness, my review suggested that I often take on too many tasks and bite off more than I can chew trying to be a go-getter, and should focus on fewer tasks that I can knock out of the park instead of trying to do everything myself."

"My last performance review highlighted my strength as a motivator, influencer, and transformative leader who is excellent at setting the pace and leading by example. On the flip side, it pointed out my biggest growth opportunity as my communication skills, saying I need to find the patience to slow down and more effectively delegate. It said I shouldn't try to do everything myself and that I should work smarter, not harder."

This question is a character test. It is one thing to offer a complimentary strength and a weakness that can be observed as a strength when shown in a flattering light. But volunteering a strength and a weakness from your most recent performance review reveals your current skill level, as observed by your superiors. Sharing this also displays your ability to take ownership of your career growth while demonstrating progressive strength and ambition. If you are currently working on your growth opportunities, share your progress. Doing so would be a sign of emotional maturity and inner strength. Remember, no one can hold over you what you already own.
