"I'd been working hard my first year out of college, making every effort to go the extra mile. Unfortunately, my review was unflattering, and every section discussed how I was performing only at the status quo and meeting expectations. My written review said I needed to challenge myself to go above and beyond. I debated the accuracy of this review. My boss then countered my claims by asking if I had informed my supervisors of my accomplishments and progress. I didn't have an answer. He told me how much my supervisors have to do and that they might not always see or take note of the accomplishments of what he called a stealth worker. He then challenged me to not only call attention to my accomplishments but to seek other opportunities to contribute. I knew they were right and have since learned to do just this."

"When I was trying to get promoted into a leadership position, I'd spent a lot of time at work being a friend to many of my coworkers to rally their support and get them to go to bat for me. A few of them brought their troubles to work. One had broken up with his girlfriend and was having trouble being productive. So I spent some time giving him a sympathetic ear. My supervisor watched from afar and pulled me aside discretely. He said that I was a nice person and that what I was doing was kind, but that wasn't going to get me promoted. He told me at a certain point, to reach my goals, I had to learn when to prioritize my needs and the needs of the company. He said, otherwise, my goals would keep getting farther and farther off. That was hard to hear, but it was good advice, which I took to heart."

How receptive you are to feedback, solicited or unsolicited, will inform the interviewer of your EQ. A career-driven professional will be driven to learn, grow, and improve. They are in charge of their development. Respect is another of PNC's values: "We trust the capabilities, character, and judgment of our colleagues, and treat each other with respect." This falls in line with this question. The hiring authority wants to know whether you proactively seek feedback to improve and learn from the feedback or feel victimized by it.

Prepare for your interview as much as possible. When trying to remember something, we may exhibit body language indicative of confusion or concentration, such as redirecting our gaze or furrowing our eyebrows. But these signals can also be an indicator of frustration or annoyance. So, try not to send any confusing signals that could be misinterpreted by the algorithm. Speak slowly and in an evenly measured tone. Relax your eyebrows and widen your eyes. Try to come across as friendly, relaxed, and confident.

When I was working on a big project for one of my higher-level analysis classes I learned from my professor that some of the visualizations I had used should be set up differently. After listening carefully I critiqued the specified visualizations and understood why they needed to be changed.
