What You Need to Know

Remember, the algorithm will study and analyze your every move and word. You want to look the algorithm in the eyes (your computer camera) as often as possible and imagine you're talking to a person. Some of the non-verbal cues the algorithm will use to evaluate your honesty are averting your gaze, hiding your eyes with your hand, or covering your mouth. Others are shifting your weight or fidgeting, playing with your hair, pressing your fingers to your lips, or stroking your chin. The algorithm will always watch for signs of discomfort or dishonesty. Unlike an in-person interview, the algorithm will not be charmed or fooled. It will analyze your vocal inflections, choice of words, and body language for signs of dishonesty or exaggeration. HireVue offers a variety of packages with varying options to suit the needs of the hiring authority. They offer to screen out less qualified candidates to save the hiring authority sometimes. They offer a recorded video of each interview performance, which they can watch side by side to compare each candidate.
