"I am always developing new systems and methods for doing any task correctly, yet faster. When I develop a new method of doing things, I am eager to share it with my teammates. I also have strong attention to detail; if I notice discrepancies or mistakes others have made, I try to teach them not to make the same mistake sooner and help them identify it as a growth opportunity and attract attention from management for their self-development."

"My nickname at my current employer is Coach. Anytime a new supervisor comes on board, my manager pairs them with me. I have a strong track record for getting those new to the position up to speed and on the fast track for developing their skill set."

Here are some statements from PNC's website, which may guide you in formulating an answer that aligns with their philosophy and approach; "To mentor effectively, it's critical to understand individuals' skills, backgrounds and situations. As part of our motivated team, you'll help us improve and adapt our products and services for customers. But it's not just our solutions that evolve. With training, development plans and mentoring, you can drive your career path, your way."

HireVue will start recording about twenty to thirty seconds after the question appears on the screen. Once it starts recording, you'll be given about three minutes to answer each question and only one take to record your answers. Even though some questions take longer to answer than others, a common mistake people make is to try to run out the clock. But this can make an applicant seem like they are rambling on, which is a sign of messy communication. So be succinct and only take as much time as you need.

When I managed a team in my previous job I have a current record of training and helping more than 10 employees on learning how to perform various tasks within the environment.

This is a great experience to share with the interviewer!

Yes, I find even for those who are experienced that we can all learn from each other. For those who are new to the team, I make sure to share my insight and workflow with them based on my own experience and to those who have been here longer, I also have shared ways to make workflow more efficient and balanced even training on new ways to get work done.

Jaymie's Feedback
Great! Were you a mentor in a formal capacity, or do you take the initiative as a senior professional to help others? What about mentoring do you enjoy (building relationships, helping others build and refine skillsets, being a part of their growth, development, and success?)
