"Thank you for asking. I just revisited my five-year career goals, which I do once every year or two, depending on how far along I am with my goals. I've set some pretty aggressive milestones for myself for the next two years. I like thinking of myself as a cartographer of my future. The nearest destination on my map of the future is learning and picking up new skills and experiences with a company whose goals and values align with mine. Once I've completed my training in that position, I hope to grow within that organization, being mentored and accelerated toward our mutual goals."

Before your interview, revise your five-year career plan and distill it into your immediate professional mantra and mission statement. This will help you deliver a clear and concise answer when this question comes up and will showcase that you've taken charge of your professional development. It will likewise make it easier to identify you as someone with like-minded opportunities that suggests a symbiotic match for an employer/employee relationship.

Make sure you are in a relatively quiet place with as little background noise as possible. The camera angle should be at eye level. Positioning it too low will make you come across as domineering. Too high, and you'll seem too weak or small. So center it, and make sure your lighting is also equally balanced. Maintain eye contact in front of the camera as if you're speaking face-to-face with a person. Be mindful of your facial expressions. Furrowing your brow while concentrating on how to answer a question can easily be misinterpreted as exhibiting anger and raise a red flag.

Every employer aspires to invest its resources in those interested in mutual growth towards like-minded opportunities. One way to gauge your interest is by determining your career goals and how they align with what they offer. For example, they advertise the following on their site; "We know our people are our strongest asset. You will never stop learning here, and we will learn with, invest in and support you along the way. From employee upskilling to policy advocacy, we're investing in people by equipping them with the tools and skills they need to prepare them for the future of work." JP Morgan Chase also advertises "opportunities at every level and in over 60 countries, from marketing to technology to research."

Thank you for asking. I just revisited my five-year career goals, seeing that I'll be graduating next spring. The nearest destination on my map of the future is learning and picking up new skills and experiences with a company whose goals and values align with mine. Once I've completed my training in that position, I hope to grow within that organization, being mentored and accelerated toward our mutual goals.

Krista's Feedback
This is an excellent answer. I would include how your five-year goals align with working for JPMorgan Chase. The answer as it is could include working for any company. The interviewers want to hear that you see yourself with their company in the next five years.
