"I also put a lot of value in clear communication between all parties, departments, and sectors. Without clear and consistent communication, any situation can degrade rather swiftly, and progress comes to a halt. I would say I over-communicate until I am sure everyone is on the same page. So, my oral and written communication skills are highly developed. From presentation to confirmation to follow up, every stage of communication is as valuable as the next."

This question aims to assess how skilled a communicator you are. Conveying the big picture, the stakes involved, and consistently following through are integral to functional communication. Communication is likewise essential to ensuring a business' systems run smoothly. A breakdown can happen anywhere in the chain, leading to rework, a loss in productivity, increased payroll, and less profit, costing a company and inflating its budget.
Someone who uses the expression, 'if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself,' likely has yet to master the communication skills necessary to successfully delegate. The message sent is not always the message received, and although an employee might confirm they understand their instructions, they may either fall short of the expectations that were inadequately communicated or fail to communicate they've completed the task without understanding the stakes involved. Consider these points when formulating your answer.

The assessment vendor will screen you for how well you communicate. So keep an ear out for any stutters, awkward pauses, or your use of any speech crutch words such as "uh," "like," "um," "you know," "so on and so forth," "and," "well," "but," "so," "ah," "er," and "Etcetera." Record your voice while answering some of these questions to identify your tics so you can better practice answering these questions without relying on such words. Also, pay close attention to your choice of words and what they might suggest beyond your intended meaning. Doing so will aid in presenting yourself as a clearer communicator and more of a professional.

Communicating effectively with others is more than the words you choose, and more than speaking clearly and concisely. It also means actively listening, exuding empathy, and treating others with respect. Here are some of the statements JP Morgan Chase makes concerning communication; "We communicate honestly, clearly and consistently. We foster an environment of respect, inclusiveness, humanity and humility. We build teamwork, loyalty and morale, and act in a thoughtful, coordinated way. Respect and learn from your people / team. Foster a spirit of partnership." Consider these points when formulating your answer.

Honestly, I believe I have great communication skills because I understand the value of establishing communication between many parties. I usually over-communicate to assure the same page is present by all.

It's great that you consider yourself to be a strong communicator. Keep in mind that communication can be broken down into different types like listening, verbal, non-verbal, written, and even presenting. Go into more detail about each of these communication types and highlight the areas where you're the strongest. Give examples to support your assertions (like, for example, if you say that you're an excellent presenter, talk about a time when you successfully presented in front of a group). Nice job!
