Question 3 of 30

Describe a time when you had to work on a team that didn't get along. What happened?

"Within my previous role, my team generally got along great. But along the way, the company hired a new PR person who joined the team and temporarily disrupted the dynamic. This person was more outspoken and assertive, and they came barreling in with lots of disruptive ideas. I immediately recognized how the rest of the team was negatively reacting to this new person. I arranged to meet with the newcomer one-on-one and explained how the team had previously got along. While I expressed how much we welcomed their new ideas and enthusiasm, together we came up with an action plan that would help to integrate them successfully into the team. We also agreed that I would initiate a few social events so the other team members could get to know them better. In the end, everyone adapted and this person became a highly integral and valued member of the team."
