Question 4 of 30

Public Relations Managers are often placed under extreme pressure. Talk about a time when you were under such pressure and how you handled the situation.

"I view stress as a positive, and I thrive under pressure. I love this aspect of my job because it keeps me energized and motivated. To manage it, I usually take a break at lunch to socialize for a few minutes and take a walk if the weather is nice outside. I also reframe stressful situations as positive ones in my mind and thoughts whenever possible. I recently dealt with a high-pressure situation within my current role. We needed to get a press release out as soon as possible so it came out in conjunction with a product launch, but it got held up in lawyer review longer than expected. I knew I couldn't hound the lawyers too much because they had other obligations as well, but I did remind them of our deadline and emphasized how important it was to us that they meet it. I also put together a second version of the press release that left out certain legally questionable details that could be used as a Plan B if needed. In the end, the lawyers reviewed the original release within our timeframe, and we were able to proceed as hoped."
