Question 31 of 35

When starting a new job, what are steps you've taken to develop a 30, 60, and 90-day plan for yourself?

"It's certainly been a long time since I've joined a new company, but the important things to accomplish in the first three months on any job involve people, duties, and processes. If I were to join this amazing team at Stryker, goal one in the first 30 days would be to meet and greet with all internal and external players I will be collaborating with on a regular basis. Starting to build rapport and develop winning relationships is important to me and something I would prioritize in this role. From there, I hope to be up to speed on all things Stryker in my first two months on the job. By working with mentors and training with my new colleagues, seeing the big picture of our work would be important to me. Last, by the end of my first three months here, I would expect to be up and running on my own in my day-to-day duties. I think it takes time to get comfortable and my ability to learn, adapt, and retain information would be a big asset if I were to join this team."

I then devise a strategy to boost processes and referral patterns. Due to my years within this industry, I can get a strong sense of where I need to be intellectually by a 30, 60, and 90 day period.
