"If you are familiar with my current organization, we have locations all over the world and I connect with and work closely with colleagues in China, India, and Australia regularly. While time constraints can be an issue at times, we make things work for us to progress in our work. I report to a manager who is in Canada, but also have a dotted line so to say to other leaders at my location. I had the opportunity to work with a start-up company that was expanding its field force at a rapid clip. At the time, I managed a team of eight sales reps with various levels of experience, and we were acquiring new customers at a high frequency. I felt as though I was being pulled in multiple directions with a tremendous sense of urgency. Some of my newer reps needed quite a bit of coaching while the executive team required daily feedback regarding our marketing goals. Corporate's 'bottom line' was net sales, so I created a spreadsheet that tallied up our weekly accomplishments so that we could all keep our eye on the ball.

I currently work with on a global talent management fitness team where we meet monthly to improve HR efficiencies through technology globally. I navigate this by adjusting my work times on meeting days to meet the needs of those around the globe, as well as sharing locally the improvements we come up with. We also have 2 COE's in other countries, and I use Skype to communicate with these groups when necessary to ensure accurate communication.

All of the companies I have worked with have corporate offices in LA, and my last one had a reporting office in Hong Kong. We have regular global calls with expected report outs. This means accepting invites at sometimes not convenient times PST - but it is important to be present and be prepared. So when I see the invitation and accept, I prepare in advance, so I am ready.

Yes! My previous employer was also global, so we had correspondence throughout the country as well as Europe and Asia. I had some buy groups located in Indian, and I was able to speak with their management teams to ensure that we had successful sales produced.

As an Executive Assistant, I have always had conflicting priorities and multiple managers that I supported simultaneously. I am extremely organized and I maintain meticulous notes and calendars. I constantly touch base daily with each manager to check-in as well as ask about any changing deliverables so that I can adjust my workload accordingly.
