"I experienced this in my first year of college. I felt I wasn't fairly graded for my efforts on an assignment. I advocated for myself, communicating as effectively as I could. My professor was at first stand-offish and told me to deal with it and do better next time. But I explained that I didn't understand why they graded me so egregiously on my grammar for a science-based project. After successfully communicating this point, they finally softened and explained that in the scientific community, communication, especially the written word, holds as much value as the work itself. I get that now."

This behavioral question is asked to determine how well you respond to feedback, how proactive your approach to your professional development is, and whether you proactively seek feedback or wait for others to come to you. Your verbal and non-verbal cues will clue the assessment vendor and recruiter into your receptiveness to feedback, defensive or proactive, and what you learned from that feedback if anything.

While preparing for your recorded on-camera interview, keep in mind that your surroundings are also a reflection of you as a professional. You'll want your focus to be on you and not on your background. Make sure your space is organized, free of distractions, and work-appropriate.
Respond thoughtfully to this question and with a respectful tone. Be humble in your answer and avoid defensive posturing, such as furrowing your brow or folding your arms. The key is to present yourself as calm and professional. Persuade the interviewers that you always strive to improve your performance and learn and grow. When sharing your example, objectify the situation and not the individual who offered the feedback.
