At Cardinal Health, interdepartmental teamwork is the key to the organization's success. Your interviewer must be assured that any candidate they hire to join their team prioritizes teamwork and respectful relationships with colleagues. This question allows you to describe why this concept is important to you.

"I value my relationships with my coworkers because we support each other and make each other laugh when the work environment becomes intense. I have a coworker that I eat lunch with every day. We've helped each other out by simply listening to what's going on in each other's lives. It's nice to have colleagues who understand you on a personal level."

"To accomplish anything in a job, you need your team members. Your team members are who you rely on to get a project done. You will often call them in when you need advice, or to help pick up the slack when you're in a pinch. If you don't have a good rapport with your co-workers, it can limit your ability to be great at your job."

This answer may seem obvious because enjoying your time with coworkers is sometimes the best part of the job! If you aren't a naturally social person, this question may seem more challenging to answer. Talk to the interviewer about how you develop relationships with coworkers when you start a new job. Think about what has been important to you about the relationships with your colleagues throughout your career and discuss how you would build trusting relationships from your first day on the job.

"I am very much a people person and value my relationships with colleagues. We spend so much of our life with each other that it is important to get to know them on a more personal level. I have made friends at every job I have worked at, and it's nice to have someone you can bounce ideas off and vent if it's a stressful day. I am sure I would have no trouble developing great friendships here at Cardinal Health if offered the position."

Makes sense! Can you talk about a time when the support of your coworkers helped you succeed?
Anonymous Answer
Because teamwork is everything. It's hard to look at any of my greater accomplishments in my career and not think of the teams who helped make it happen. On top of that, I enjoy being part of a team and getting to know members as people as well as team members. One of the best feelings in the world is working together as a team and everyone is doing their part and seeing the results come out like an efficient machine. One of the biggest parts of my last role was facilitating and growing the team environment on a global level of those involved in my portfolio. I facilitated regular meetings, visited each facility, and facilitated visits to other facilities for team members. Since my departure from that role, I am still in regular contact with that team on a personal basis and it's very valuable to me.
