The healthcare and pharmaceutical industries are constantly in a state of change, and to be successful, Cardinal Health has had to be adaptive to changes to maintain the success they've had for years. To get at your passion and insight into the industry, your interviewer wants to hear you give your thoughts on what changes you feel are on the horizon.

"I read on your website that Cardinal Health is expected to see a 43% increase in the sales of product ABC. This fact piqued my interest as I have seen reports that forecast a strong increase in the use of product ABC for alternative medical therapies. There are continual changes in this industry, but I see this particular one being very significant in the upcoming months."

"I was reading the most recent issue of the Pharmaceutical Representative and they mentioned in an article that 2022 is going to be a great year for the pharma industry due to artificial intelligence coming more to the forefront in the industry. I loved reading about your machine learning projects here at Cardinal Health and knowing that your organization is staying at the forefront of this technology into the future."

Assure the interviewer that you have a keen and honest interest in this industry by discussing the growth and change that you foresee in this next year. If the organization has any upcoming news or changes you discovered through your research, be sure to mention these as well. Given that the healthcare industry is enormous and all-encompassing, try to customize your answer to something that pertains to the role you are interviewing for.

"I see a lot of changes happening in the next 12 months as the biotech industry is exploding. I see medicine becoming personalized to individual people based on their genetic makeup. Personalized medicine can treat and prevent diseases if a person is susceptible to a certain familial disease. I also see faster pharmaceutical testing and approval of medicines following the last pandemic, which can be credited to research and data originating in the biotech industry."

I read that Cardinal Health is building a new 5.75 thousand square foot medical distribution warehouse in Columbus, OH.

Stephanie's Feedback
How exactly would this new building impact changes in the industry in the next year? This question is a good opportunity to showcase your knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and your ability to stay abreast of current trends.

I think the forecast for this particular product portfolio is for a nice amount of growth. The market should be expanding as the diabetes associate expects (unfortunately) diabetes diagnosis to increase over the next 5 years, which will increase the demand for patients who need nutritional assistance. The fact that we are getting to a point where boomers are aging into high-risk disease categories like Alzheimer's and diabetes also plays into an increase in demand for this portfolio over the next five years.

Jaymie's Feedback
Your answer really highlights your industry and healthcare knowledge and the fact that you're aware of current trends and issues patients are facing. Good job!
