"There have been so many developments in biotechnology the past three years, but I do feel that the biggest was the development in gene editing. It's an incredibly controversial and intriguing practice and I think many more things will come in this area in the next five to ten years."

Artificial intelligence and big data, 3.) Biofuels, 4.) Tissue engineering and regenerative medicines, and 5.) Food biotechnology and agriculture. Discuss one or two of the recent advancements and try to relate the advancement to the role or position you are interviewing for.

I guess this is where the fake meat response might be more appropriate. The ability to grow protein-rich meat from the cells of an animal has large-reaching and incredible implications for the entire world. If we can do it cheaply enough, it could eliminate hunger in many starved countries.
