As you interview for this role, your interviewer will focus many questions on your technical skills for the job. However, since the company focuses so much on great workplace culture, they'll also want to get to know you as a person. They will ask this question to see if someone inspired you to pursue your career and hear how you communicate and connect with others.

"I find inspiration in a variety of people and things. I would have to say that the person who has most greatly inspired me has been my grandmother. She always had a smile on her face no matter how hard she worked and she loved everyone. She was well respected and always gave more than she received. I try to live like she did, as much as I can."

"My previous manager was a huge inspiration to me. Her passion for this industry was motivating and put the fire in me to climb the ladder in my career."

"My mother inspires me the most. She was a single mom to my brother and me and worked three jobs to provide for us. She never complained, was always happy, and taught us the power of hard work and giving back to the community. She has supported everything I have done, and even went to college with me and received her bachelor's degree at the age of 60. I have developed a strong work ethic, problem-solving, and leadership skills because of my mom."

It is best to describe a person you are close to and avoid political or religious figures. You do not know the interviewer's beliefs and do not want to offend them. After mentioning who inspires you the most, be sure to explain why you chose this person.

It's corny but my grandmother was a huge inspiration to me. She overcame a lot of barriers in the 30s and 40s and was a strong woman who raised 5 children by herself while working up to 3 part-time jobs because it was rare for women to be hired full-time in those days. Although she died of Parkinson's disease when I was 13, I think of her often and how the choices she made created a lasting impression on my mother and me.
