Being a liaison to campus resources for students will be a vital part of your job if hired for this Academic Support Coordinator role. Struggling students have writing centers, tutors, career services, recreational services, and academic advisors available at their disposal, and you will be expected to help guide students towards these resources when their situation calls for it. Before your interview, try to do as much research as possible on the campus services available to students and describe to your interviewer how you would prioritize familiarizing yourself with those services once hired for the job. If you have work experience in your past where you had to be a liaison for available resources, talk about that experience to give your interviewer some insight into how you will handle similar situations in this role.

"If I am fortunate enough to join your team as an Academic Support Coordinator, one of the first goals I would set is to familiarize myself with all of the different resources to students. I would take time to introduce myself to and talk with staff in the advising office, the tutoring center, and the career services center on your campus. I fully understand that I would have the great responsibility of regularly referring students to these necessary resources, and I would be doing that based on each student's needs. In my current job, I have to be very knowledgeable on resources available for students. Knowing the features and benefits of each resource is vitally important for me to assist students in the best way possible."

I have done research and have become familiar with the programs available to students; the help sessions, one-on-one tutoring, hands-on, grades up, week-in-review, and reboot workshops. In my teaching role, I always needed to be aware of the resources available to students. When parents asked for additional help for their students I knew what to recommend.
