"I had experienced this over the last two years in my current role when our campus had many classes go virtual. For one, I know it's critical to establish criteria for the students so they are clear on what they must know from one lesson to the next. I achieve this in several ways. Sometimes through direct interaction with the students. Sometimes I do so via written assignments or tests. Another key to evaluating the effectiveness is accessibility. In a classroom setting, student accessibility was less of a concern because students were present in the classroom. In the virtual world of education, I need to consider the accessibility of mixed media like presentations and videos and audio lectures, as well as platforms and even connectivity. All students must have access. Poor access has a direct impact on the quality of education."

During the pandemic, this was something that I constantly had to be evaluating. We were being asked to implement so many different online learning programs and I needed to be able to select the most effective one. I looked at which programs my students have access to. Which programs get the information to my students in an effective way? Is it user-friendly? Can my students navigate the program with little support from me?
