"This question dives into the main purpose of an Academic Support Coordinator because our job is to help fill the learning and educational gaps that individual students have. To fill these gaps, we need an objective way to measure where students are and determine where they need to be. The standard for measuring the academic needs of students is assessments in the form of tests, quizzes, or other knowledge-based assignments. These provide an excellent baseline for most subjects and courses. I'm also a believer that formative assessments are important in the overall measurement of student success, and I would rely on this information from the professors that I would be supporting."
