"I would say that I take on a demanding task or project nearly every day. I am self-driven and have no problem taking the initiative to get the job done. Just yesterday, I headed up the installation of a new software module throughout the entire department. It was tedious work that required a bit of overtime, but I didn't mind. I think I finished up a little after 10 pm. I was excited to get it done, knowing things would run more smoothly, and took pride in my work. Well worth the time and effort."

"We recently had a big project within our work center. No one quite knew where to start or who should start it, so I took the initiative to volunteer and led my co-workers. We completed the project three days ahead of schedule. My supervisors were very pleased with me, and I received praise for it. That felt pretty good."

I met a big problem in the class Data Mining- I do not know the grammar in python. But the project needs to be done in python. I studied the syntax of python language. After a long period of study, I worked on the project, and finally, I finished each project in time.

This initiative would have taken a lot of care, dedication, and patience! How did you do on the project, in the end?

We recently launched our company's new App and I was in charge of organizing the launch and preparing our three locations as well as our team. I put in extra hours planning the launch event and putting together learning materials for my team. The head office was very interested in the extra material I created and asked me to send it to them to help with future launches.
Marcie's Feedback
Nice! It sounds like you really took charge here. How did the launch event go? What exactly did you have to do to plan and execute it? What did the head office like so much about the training materials you created? Remember, the more details, the better!

I was tasked with implementing new project management and accounting software for the company. It was a big task, as that was the first time the company had used an all-in-one solution like that. I enlisted the help of another co-worker and between the 2 of us, we designed the implementation plan and fully integrated everyone into the new system, and trained them on how to use it.

Jaymie's Feedback
This is a great example to use in your response! If you can, elaborate a little more on how you determined responsibilities, what your responsibilities were, and what led to the success of the implementation.

I and some team members were assigned a big project. No one really knew where to start so I took the initiative to bring forward my ideas and start the project. We completed the project before the deadline and my superiors were pleased with me.
Marcie's Feedback
Nice! But your example is honestly too vague. To make it meaningful to the interviewer, include lots of details. What kind of project? What ideas did you have? What was the end result of the project? Remember, your example can be from either school or work.
