"In addition to my regular responsibilities, my previous employer also asked me to lead our social committee. That was very exciting because I love working where everyone knows each other, is comfortable having meaningful conversations, and can let loose now and then. I planned four social events per year, and the turnout was always wonderful. Employee engagement went up, and some powerful connections were made."

In addition to my regular responsibilities, our company would hold monthly "Crew appreciation weekends." Each month a different member of the senior management team would host a weekend with a theme devise games, bake treats and give out rewards to our crew members (usually based on if we were reaching our targets). Employee engagement always went up and it was much easier to get them to buy into working hard on our targets.

Cool! This sounds like fun. Now, to improve your answer, connect your enjoyment of boosting employee morale and engagement to the role itself. Will the skills you used to carry out crew appreciation weekends be useful in this new position? Will they benefit the company somehow?

I really enjoyed being the go-to person for help and troubleshooting. I am a helper and problem solver by nature, so I am really in my element when people come to me and ask for help fixing something.

You have a solid foundation here. Can you go into more detail about the decisions you were responsible for or the level of accountability in your previous role? It's always helpful if you can use data or numbers where relevant too, especially if you were responsible for revenue, sales, lead generation, people management, etc.

In my former position, I enjoyed keeping the workplace clean and safe. I enjoyed that everyone went home safe and that I helped play a role in ensuring that happened.

Nice! How exactly did you keep the workplace safe and clean? What did you do to accomplish that, and will you carry out similar tasks within this role? Also, why did achieving this matter so much to you?
