Your interviewer wants to assess how proactive you are in receiving feedback. Receiving feedback from a manager or supervisor can be nerve-wracking. Delivering negative feedback in an unprofessional manner is a reflection of that person's mood or outlook and not you. You can't always predict what they may say or how you might feel in response. Your interviewer wants to know if you are easily offended or defensive and how you respond to feedback - constructively or negatively. They are also curious if you take responsibility for your actions or are quick to reassign blame, whether justified or not. Consider this when answering this question.

"Even though it can be difficult to hear criticism, I always pause before I respond and take time to think about it first. If it catches me by surprise, I usually ask the person to clarify or explain. I want to grow and improve, so the more specific my supervisor can be, the more helpful it is."

I respond well to feedback and often will seek constructive feedback as a way to allow myself growth in a career.

Rachelle's Feedback
Very good! It's important to ask for feedback and then apply what you learn. If possible, give an example of a time when you received feedback, and you took immediate action steps to improve.

I think I respond well to feedback, as it's usually positive and I give it time to consider so that I'm not overly emotional.

Rachelle's Feedback
Mentioning a term like 'overly emotional' without context could be a red flag to your interviewer. Be sure to answer with measurable statements and never force an interviewer to 'read between the lines.' I recommend that you provide an example of a time when you received feedback, accepted it with poise, and then worked hard to improve. Also include the outcome. I have provided a starter for you below.
"I respond to valid feedback with positivity. I take the time to consider the criticism, then craft a plan of action. For instance...(provide an example using the STAR framework)."
