If you are interviewing for an account manager or sales-related role with Liberty Mutual, research the expectations of this role and the size of the portfolio you will manage. Disclose the size of your current or most recent insurance portfolio. Assure the interviewer that you can handle the volume required of the position.

"With my current company, I have a portfolio of 55M, which I grew from 15M when I first started. I am comfortable with this volume but can certainly handle more if required. May I ask what the average Insurance agent's book of business looks like with Liberty Mutual?"

"My most recent portfolio was smaller than I would have liked, which is why I am seeking a new opportunity. I would prefer an active portfolio in the 25-30 million range."

Its actually mostly transactional day to day. My employer moves us between at least 3 different locations, so it's difficult to build a client base. I do have about 10 very loyal customers, but I would love more so that I could better understand my customers and their needs.

Rachelle's Feedback
You put a nice spin on what sounds like a challenging current situation. If you have other numbers to share with the interviewer (numbers that would help them to place your current volume), that would be a helpful addition.

At one point I had 200 open claims from Hurricane Irma. They were all at different places in the claim process. Many were new, just opened. Some were already inspected and waiting for a settlement, some in Appraisal or Mediation, so yes I was able to manage the workload by being organized and keeping consistent with follow-up and updates.

Excellent! This is a strong example that shows how capable you are. Can you talk in more detail about exactly how you kept this many clients organized? What tools and methods did you use? Then end your answer by telling the interviewer that you look forward to overseeing many of their clients as well. Good job!
