Question 2 of 31

North York General Hospital partners with many local community organizations on comprehensive mental health services for our patients. Why is this important to you?

"Growing up, I watched both of my parents battle alcoholism and I realized from a very young age how difficult addiction could be on a family. I always knew that my parents loved me with all of my heart, but never understood why they often chose the need to drink over my care or attendance at one of my functions. Working in healthcare, it is so great to see that there are efforts to bridge the many gaps that are out there for people battling addiction and other mental health issues. I personally think that education to both those suffering and the general public is the most important things that is being done at this time."

      2nd Answer Example

"Working in a marketing setting within healthcare currently, I know the great lengths that some organizations go to to provide education and resources to the greater community regarding mental health awareness. I have worked with outside organizations to provide materials to awareness and educational events in the province to bring a great sense of well being for those suffering with mental illness. I am so glad to hear that an organization like North York General Hospital is doing their part as well in the Toronto area."
