Kaiser Permanente has the philosophy that they are many, working together as one, and each employee with the institution is essential to achieving the collective mission. Because teamwork is so vital to the success of providing great service and results to their members, your interviewer wants to hear you discuss how you play and work as part of a larger team. Some key things to focus on as you answer this question are your ability to communicate, listen, delegate, and perform many different roles within a team setting. If you have examples of times you've led others and have taken direction with ease, make sure to discuss those.

"Throughout my career as a LCSW, being the ultimate team player has been a big key to my success. If I'm fortunate enough to join the Kaiser Permanente team, I will be a collaborator who knows my role and has expertise in the overall care of patients. I'm always open and ready to work with other medical professionals on care plans for patients because I know that it takes the expertise of many to help patients through the toughest of times. I would come here with the ability to take charge when necessary. My colleagues will quickly say that I lead in a dignified and professional manner and that people are always willing to listen to and respect me."

My position at Kaiser is a Radiology Physician Assistant. There are no other roles for that position

This question is a little tricky because it's unclear. It can help to think of it more broadly - going beyond your actual job title to reveal more about how you function within a healthcare team. There are many roles to play on a team and this question is asking about the kind of role you tend to take on when you're part of a team. Do you tend to take on a formal leadership role or tend to lead by example in more of a supportive position? Are you the creative member able to think outside the box or more of a logical analyst able to keep the team on task? You may also excel as an empathetic listener, able to help resolve conflict and build strong relationships. While I've listed several general options here, you don't have to stick to standard role divisions (i.e. leader vs. follower). At the end of the day, many role titles are fluid. It is best to explain clearly what your strengths are and how those strengths would benefit you as a Radiology PA.

Because I am an associate trying to gain my hours for licensing, I would feel comfortable being in the learning role as I have very limited skills and experience in the mental health therapy/counseling field. I hope to gain more knowledge and skills from my superior and apply them to all members across the lifespan.

It's good to be honest about your experience and skill set, as you have been here. You did a nice job explaining your goals as a more junior team member.
