Given the sheer volume of members that the 24,000 physicians, 73,000 nurses, and 75,000 allied health professionals work with in their 40 hospitals and 618 medical facilities, every single person that works for Kaiser Permanente needs to be highly detailed and organized in their work. In answering this question effectively, you should highlight roles and duties you've held in the past where displaying these qualities was vital to your success. To take your answer a step further, make sure to discuss the exact duties you will be taking on at Kaiser that will require this same level of organizational skills from you.

"As you can see from my resume, I'd be coming to Kaiser Permanente from a very busy and demanding imaging practice. Over the last five years, I've honed my organizational skills to the point I'm at today where all patient results are charted, organized, and filed neatly for all future care providers to find things promptly and easily. I see it as my job to ensure that proper care isn't delayed after I work with a patient. On top of this, I'm very thorough with every patient under my care to ensure that their time in the department is not wasted. I listen to my patients and don't hesitate to take extra images to avoid a re-visit. If you were to contact my references I supplied following my interview, they wouldn't hesitate to talk about my attention to detail in my work."

I'm a very detailed and organized person. I like to manage my time to finish my projects on time. Takes notes when I have to and double-check my work to make sure it's done right like typing prescriptions. Just like when I fill, I make sure the bottles are organized and in their place.

Rachelle's Feedback
It sounds as though you are highly organized and methodical in your work. Do you utilize any computer programs or even apps on your phone to keep your tasks organized?
Anonymous Answer
I have a methodical and systematic approach to my procedures. I like my trays to be organized and set up the same way every time. Although I can multi-task, my attention is on one patient at a time so I can focus and be highly accurate in my care. After every consult or procedure, I immediately enter my notes in EMR so patients can easily transition from my care to another provider.

Amanda's Feedback
Attention to detail and accuracy are absolutely vital when providing medical care to patients. You have confirmed that you're methodical, organized, and focused to ensure that each patient has your full attention and receives optimal care. You can enhance this response further by explaining any additional actions you take to stay organized such as briefly reviewing chart notes before entering the patient room, asking follow-up questions to ensure a complete understanding of a patient's condition, or double-checking your notes for accuracy.

I consider myself an organized person, I do this by using a planner, writing down deadlines, and meeting and writing my tasks for the day. I use Post-it notes that I stick on my computer for priority work, and I organize my desktop folder which makes it easy to access files and notes. The way I pay attention to details is by using a highlighter so that important information sticks out.

In school, I would use a reminder app that allowed me to keep track of all important assignments and dates throughout the semester. I also have a planner to know what assignments to do during the week. I prefer to use a pencil and paper for this because writing things out helps me to better remember things. I organize my assignments by color coding them to easily distinguish the type of assignment it was. For bigger assignments like projects and tests, I make sure to start working on them immediately. I split up studying time or different parts of a project into smaller parts each day to get everything done on time. I also check all my work multiple times to ensure everything is done correctly.
