In the healthcare industry, keeping up with CME credits and other learning opportunities are important within any field in the industry. Kaiser Permanente also offers their staff many CME opportunities and changes to further develop their careers. Discuss the ways that you stay updated and informed in your line of work. This is your chance to talk about all of the societies/organizations you belong to, the journals you read, the conferences you attend, and the continuing education you regularly pursue. No matter how you answer, ensure your interviewer walks away from your time together knowing that you will always be committed to furthering yourself as part of the Kaiser Permanente team.
"First and foremost, I'm a very active member of both the ACHE and the AAHAM. I love the opportunity to attend both regional and national events with both organizations to hear keynote speakers and network with other administration professionals in the field. Through ACHE, I've gotten to meet several esteemed colleagues here at Kaiser Permanente and they've spoken so highly about working here. I'm also a very firm believer in continuing education for myself and my staff. Over the last few years, I've taken some great courses in managing conflict, optimization of ambulatory care in the 21st century, and the rise of healthcare analytics. I think all of these courses would be beneficial for me in this role."

As a certified pharmacy tech, I have to continue learning. I am registered at powerpack.com, where I get emails with anything new that happens in the medical field. I also learn a different kind of articles and submit my test to renew my certificate. I also receive emails from different pharmacy pages with interesting articles.

As a Physician Assistant, we are required to accrue 100 hours of CME every 2 years. I acquire this CME through various sources, conferences, Journal CME, and various online CME opportunities. Every other year, I attend a GAPA CME conference which keeps me up to date with current medical issues. I also read PA Journals (JAAPA) to keep current.

Finally, consider sharing something particularly interesting that you recently learned through CME that you found helpful. This shows the interviewer that you're not just naming things, but actually engaged with these sources.

The use of social media helps me keep up to date with law and regulation changes such as the NASWCA and BBS page. I am subscribed to DMHUCLA Well-being for LA Center for upcoming seminars presenting on different issues in the mental health population, and I will renew my NASW membership to receive the newsletter on current issues and become part of a forum with like-minded clinical social workers.
