As one of their primary core values, excellence in delivering the highest quality care and programs to their members is vital for Kaiser Permanente. To see that you are committed to providing this same level of service if you emerge as their top candidate, your interviewer is looking to hear your honest assessment of what you'll need to be successful. This is a great gauge for them to see that you understand the duties and responsibilities you will be taking on, so come prepared to discuss what you feel you need to be successful from day one on the job. With this being a pretty open-ended question, some things to consider discussing are equipment, resources, and training you foresee as being important for your success.

"I appreciate this question so much! Delivering great service to the members I would be caring for here at Kaiser Permanente would be my top priority on the job. To do this, it starts with the right medical equipment in the patient care rooms and the most up-to-date software programs. From the tour I received earlier, it looks like your team is all set there. On top of this, some in-depth training on your customized EPIC program will be very essential for me in my initial weeks on the job. I've worked for a few years within that EMR program, but of course want to familiarize myself with how you have customized it to fit your needs and processes."

I have the basic procedural skills for this team position. I would need to be trained in the new procedures. I would also need a technologist to assist me who could adjust to my easy procedural style.

Amanda's Feedback
Consider strengthening this response by clearly stating which new procedures you'd require training for and what kind of workflow or procedural style you'd prefer a technologist be able to adapt to. This helps the interviewer evaluate how quickly you could assimilate into the team and how your approach to work would fit with the team.

Although I have acquired the basic skills in my role as a therapist such as initial intakes, biopsychosocial assessment, and applying interventions, I would need further training in Kaiser’s policy and procedures to ensure that I am successful in my role. I hope Kaiser will provide continuing education and evidence-based practice training in order to provide quality service to its members.

Jaymie's Feedback
This is a good start! Consider also any company-provided equipment, platforms, software, or applications you may need to deliver excellent service as well.
