"When I was a supervisor at my previous position, I set a goal of having my production team exceed their weekly goal by 20 percent. I had daily meetings to help give them strategies to meet the goal and I met with employees one-on-one who were struggling with this goal. When my team met their goal, I felt incredibly proud."

"One goal I set for myself last semester was to get a 4.0 GPA. I have never had a 4.0 before, and I was determined to challenge myself and get it. I scheduled additional time to study for all of my classes and attended tutoring for a class I was having difficulties in. I had to make a lot of sacrifices but it was worth it when I got my semester grades."

My latest goal is to find an internship related to finance. Actually, I haven't accomplished this goal. But I try my best to improve myself to get this job. I learned the knowledge about Bloomberg, because I like to deal with everything about money and numbers, and I'm very sensitive about numbers. And then I started to prepare for the chartered financial analyst exam. Since I learned relevant knowledge in the two courses of Corporate Finance and Financial statement Analysis, I have been very interested in it. Since then, I have been trying to learn relevant extracurricular knowledge.

Cindy's Feedback
Good start. Instead of dwelling on a goal you didn't accomplish, try to find an example of something you did accomplish. It sounds as though you have quite a lot to choose from, as someone who pursues challenges. Start by identifying the what and the why and then explain how you overcame challenges to reach your goal.

A recent goal of mine with my previous employer was to earn a promotion. I was eager to take the next step forward in my career and put in the extra time to learn more about the business and ______ supply chain as a whole. Working outside of work and continuing to use my curiosity to ask questions helped show my drive and initiative toward that promotion, and I was able to earn that promotion in April.

You've chosen a powerful example of a career goal to share. You can strengthen this answer by sharing the logistical system or tools you mastered or new responsibilities you took on as you learned more. Finally, share the positive outcome by confirming for the interviewer that you were able to obtain the promotion you worked so hard for.
