"I ensure a good work-life balance by remaining organized and efficient during my work hours. This way I am less likely to need to work overtime. I will often commit to fun events or activities on the weekend, which means that if I do not hit my weekly work targets, I do not get the time to attend that concert or that boxing class. This motivates me to be continually efficient during my work hours."

"Finding balance is always difficult. Especially when you love your job and you really want to give it your all. I have learned over the years that in order to be the best employee that I can be, I need to take care of myself. I used to never take my vacation days, but I do now and I also make sure that I make time for things I enjoy like kayaking and going on hikes."

Actually finding balance is always difficult. I prefer to set a work goal for myself and give myself some leisure rewards when I complete the goal, such as traveling. If it's time to relax when I haven't finished what I should be doing, I tend to finish what I haven't done first.

Cindy's Feedback
Good! This is a genuine answer and a good strategy as well.

In my current role and shift, I have 4 days off, but those days are while everyone else is typically working. I struggled for a little while to develop a plan of action to ensure I am staying productive and active outside of work, and checklists and agendas are 2 things that have allowed me to take over my "weekends". I also stay active by playing intramural sports and golfing even if it is by myself.

Shift work can make it challenging to maintain a healthy work/life balance but your answer shows that you've risen to the challenge and are taking positive action to live and work in a rhythm that is healthier and more balanced as you strive to make lists of things you need to do and invest time in activities you enjoy.
