Advice and answer examples written specifically for a Ford Motor Company job interview.
25. How do you make decisions under pressure?
What You Need to Know
When faced with high pressure decision making, which requires an immediate response to a given situation, there's an old expression that applies; A good plan today is better than a better plan tomorrow. This applies greater pressure to a high-pressure situation, as making an immediate decision is something of a calculated risk. Therefore, the interviewer wants to know if you are a risk taker or risk-averse. If you are a risk-taker, they want to know how you approach evaluating risk. Taking a chance on innovation is different from being an obsessive gambler. You can't grow if you're not willing to risk stepping outside of your comfort zone! Provide an example that exhibits sound judgment, and an educated calculated risk, while thinking fast on your feet! Discuss the results of your course of action, what you learned, and how you've grown from your experience.
