When you start a new position with any company, it is important to set a goal on how you will make a positive impact quickly after being hired. In asking this question, your interviewer will be looking to hear that you've put some thought into the impact you would like to make from the start in this role at Procter and Gamble.
"When we were speaking earlier about sales targets in this position, you mentioned that most new sales professionals hit their KPIs after 120 days. If I were hired today, my goal would be to exceed my KPI's after the first 90 days. My goal, consistent with Procter and Gamble's values, will be to focus resources to achieve leadership objectives and strategies. I plan to make a positive impact very quickly and show that I am a perfect fit for P&G's culture of mastery, innovation, and passion for winning."
"I know you mentioned that the average tenure in this position, before promotion, is anywhere from six months to a year or more. I intend to prove over the first three months that I am a rockstar in the organization and that I can live out Procter and Gamble's corporate values of leadership, ownership, and passion for winning - treating the company's assets as my own and behaving with your long-term success in mind."

Prior to your interview at Procter and Gamble, research the role that you will be interviewing for and put some serious thought into what aspects of the job you will immediately be able to make your impact felt. Then, during the interview, talk to your interviewer about what your impact goal is, should you be a successful candidate. Ensure to impress your interviewer by talking about a goal or accomplishment that will make a difference for them and their team from the start.

"I'm very goal-oriented, so once I understood the scope and responsibilities of the role, I would focus on getting to know each member of the team I would be working on. I would set goals for 30, 60, and 90 days and initially, I would focus on training and onboarding so that I could learn as much as possible as quickly as possible. If there were urgent projects in place, I would jump in and support wherever I could to support the team. I would then seek to understand the department's goals and what my manager's expectations were for me and implement those KPIs in my weekly and monthly goals."

Like I mentioned before, I intend to apply my general strategy from day one in order to exceed my KPIs and provide research and analyses that will help the company grow.
Marcie's Feedback
It's great that you plan to exceed your KPIs and provide research/analyses for the company. Nice! If you want to, you could also discuss tasks that you would complete in the beginning days of the new job like introducing yourself to colleagues and clients, taking time to learn about P&G's products, and speaking to your manager about what success looks like in your new role.
Anonymous Answer
Set a KPI based on the average KPI set by past employees that started and try to succeed in a given time. It's a way of proving that I am sharing the same ideas for leadership and accomplishment as P&G organization and leave a positive impact within it.

Cindy's Feedback
Great! Goal setting is key to any job. Is there anything specific and job-related you can discuss? For example, is it important to become very familiar with the products, people, or organization? What would you do to ensure success?
