As Procter and Gamble proceed through the interview process for the position you are being interviewed for, they may be considering multiple candidates for the job. The first reason that your interview poses this question is to see if you have any sort of timelines for making a decision on any offers that would come your way. As well, they'll be looking to hear if they may be competing for your services if you are the top candidate for the job.
"I have applied to a few roles within the industry and am currently interviewing with one other company. My primary interest, though, is with P&G because your products align perfectly with my product expertise, and I believe your overall focus on your purpose, values, and principles meshes well with my own personal values."
"I am active in my search and previously have interviewed with two of your national competitors. With one, I have advanced to a second interview. With the other, I participated in a telephone interview just yesterday. With that said, I am most interested in this role with Procter and Gamble because this position is the best fit for my education and experience, and your corporate values of integrity, leadership, ownership, passion, and trust describe the kind of environment in which I believe I'd be most successful."

Honesty is the best policy for your answer to this question, whether you are applying/interviewing with a direct competitor of Procter and Gamble or not. If you are applying or interviewing with other positions, let your interviewer know that you are keeping an open mind for specific roles and that you are prioritizing this position at Procter and Gamble. If you aren't applying for any other positions at this time, reiterate that you are focusing your job search on your dream job at Procter and Gamble.

"I've just begun my job search, so I'm exploring different companies and opportunities. I'm actively interviewing but do not have any formal offers at the moment. I appreciate your time today and feel like this opportunity would align well with my skill set, formal education, and career goals."

I actually did not. I applied to other companies which are not competing with P&G at all. I really want the business I work for to be providing products I love and talk about to everyone (such as the Oral B IO), but also to align with my values. I also am looking to work for an international company as I would like to leverage my Spanish.
Marcie's Feedback
Nice job! Your answer shows that you are specifically interested in P&G because you like its products and values, as well as the fact it's a large, international company. It's also positive that you mention that you are bi-lingual.

I am applying for a similar position in a different company, tho my primary interest is P&G. As a company that holds to its principles, values, and overall focus on its purpose is something that meshes with my own personal values.

Cindy's Feedback
Good! It's good to be honest that you've got other interviews, but equally important to explain why this is the best opportunity for you.
