Attendance
1. How do you handle situations that could cause you to be tardy or absent?
What You Need to Know
Consistently showing up early reflects you are proactive and reliable. Arriving at the last minute or clocking in right on time reflects that you may be disorganized, exhibit poor planning, and put in the bare minimum. Even if you are consistently on time, claiming so is not the point of the question. The interviewer is trying to assess your experience with time management and how much of a team collaborator you are. Someone conscientious of the greater needs of the team will call and inform their supervisors of the potential of running behind, even if there is a chance they'll make it on time.
Demonstrate that you hold yourself accountable for your actions and think of the welfare of the team. Show Danone that you are proactive when confronting these types of situations.
Written by Kevin Downey on July 19th, 2022
1st Answer Example
"I always arrive to work at least 15 minutes before I am expected to be there to give me extra time in case something happens. I also make sure I have the numbers of my co-workers and boss so that I can call to let them know if I'm stuck or might be running late."
Written by Kevin Downey on July 19th, 2022
2nd Answer Example
"I was raised to be early, at all times. I am well-scheduled and understand the negative impact that my tardiness can cause. If I am to be late, I am sure to call my manager or whoever will be affected by the situation. I will also put in extra hours when necessary."

2. There may be times when you are asked to stay late or work weekends or overtime due to fluctuations in the schedule and shift changes at Danone. What is your availability?
What You Need to Know
The hours you're expected to work at Danone largely depend on your department. Research the role before your interview. Go to their careers website and explore other positions in the department you are interviewing for to get an idea of what is expected of the role. If, after exhaustive research, it isn't entirely clear what to expect, share what you have learned to showcase the research you put in and ask clarifying questions.
Written by Kevin Downey on July 19th, 2022
1st Answer Example
"I am excited about the opportunity to work for Danone, and I am available to work whatever hours are required to get the job done. Can you tell me more about what I can expect from the schedule? I am flexible, and I am comfortable with working long hours."
Written by Kevin Downey on July 19th, 2022
2nd Answer Example
"The only restriction I currently have on my schedule is Thursday evenings as I take my son to his tutoring sessions those evenings. Other than this, I am flexible with my availability. Having a family, I ask for reasonable notice to schedule changes."

3. Do you have any questions for me?
What You Need to Know
Always ask questions in an interview. The phrase 'you're interviewing them as much as they're interviewing you' may sound cliche, but it's true. Communication is a huge part of a team's success. When working on a team, you want to listen to instructions and get the work right, so you ask clarifying questions. The more questions you ask, the more conscientious and self-guided a worker you'll prove to be. Asking all the right questions in an interview relays what kind of performer you'll be on the job. Ask questions you can't answer on your own by researching their company or website. Focus your question on what they're looking for in a candidate. Avoid asking questions about pay or benefits. This will only serve as a red flag that you are only in it for the money and would follow the highest bidder (and those candidates always have the lowest starting bid).
Written by Kevin Downey on July 19th, 2022
Answer Example
"Tell me about someone on your team who embraces everything you're looking for in a candidate. I'm talking about your clutch players and top performers. What makes that person the perfect Danoner?"

4. We strive to help our employees create a healthy work/life balance at Danone. How do you balance life and work?
What You Need to Know
Danone cares about their employees. They've built their entire culture around this. Exhibiting a drive to work hard is one thing, but ensuring your performance level is sustainable requires balance. It can be challenging to balance your work with the rest of your life, even in healthy work culture. Explain how you balance both spheres and maintain your motivation and interests in your field. It's one thing to say you aren't burned out. It's another thing to convince them you look forward to coming to work as much as you look forward to your time off.
Written by Kevin Downey on July 19th, 2022
1st Answer Example
"I am methodical about my work and my schedule. I set reminders on my calendar to stay organized and on time, relying on my google calendar and my to-do list. I make sure I can make it to soccer practice each week so that I can play in the games on the weekends."
Written by Kevin Downey on July 19th, 2022
2nd Answer Example
"I find that, with the right company, it's pretty simple to balance life and work. The work doesn't feel like a chore when I enjoy what I do. I am always sure that when at home, my family gets my attention first. I take time on the weekends to do things for myself and ensure that I regenerate before the work week begins."

What You Need to Know
Every employer wants to know how each staff member is best motivated. Every career-minded individual should have a firm understanding of what motivates them in their field. Explore what drives your passion for the work you do. Inform them about what success means to you and what fulfills you in your work at the end of the day. What they are looking for is what you consider a meaningful professional experience.

8. How would your coworkers describe you?
What You Need to Know
This question serves two purposes. It offers you an opportunity to showcase your merits and desirable traits and tests your stress responses at the same time.
Someone who might be concerned with what their previous employers or coworkers have said might freeze up or stammer in a fear response. This will raise a red flag for two reasons, one being that you have been forthright in your presentation of yourself and the other being that you allow your stress to dictate your responses. However, there is little to fear. It is unlikely they have gone through those efforts before your interview, and the amount a previous employer can disclose is legally limited.
Take a moment to reflect on your relationships with your co-workers. Danone is looking for individuals who are strong communicators and innovative leaders. Think about how your work ethic positively affected everyone on your team and what you contributed to the team's success.
Written by Kevin Downey on July 19th, 2022
1st Answer Example
"My co-workers respect me for my ability to navigate obstacles and solve problems. When I work on ABC project, I always pay close attention to detail, double-checking my work for any mistakes. My co-workers appreciate that I think about the big picture while being considerate of how my work will affect their jobs. I am highly collaborative with a great attitude."
Written by Kevin Downey on July 19th, 2022
2nd Answer Example
"I have had a very respectful relationship with my colleagues. We have shared the goals and knowledge required to accomplish our projects the best we can. I believe that my current co-workers would describe me as collaborative and creative."

10. What is your experience working in a multicultural environment?
What You Need to Know
Once you perform in-depth research on all of their web pages, you'll learn that Danone is proud to have been once again ranked in the Top 100 of Equileap's 2021 Gender Equality Global Report & Ranking, progressing from 39th place in 2019 to 26th in 2021. You don't necessarily need to tie this into your answer directly, but your carefully worded answer should reflect you embrace similar values. It is recognized in most industries today that the more diverse one's workforce is, the more innovative the teams are. The wider the range of culture and experience, the more perspectives there are to contribute and draw from.
Since most companies are very team-oriented, everyone on the team needs to exhibit a certain degree of cultural competence. So your interviewer needs to ensure you'll fit well within their environment. Focus your answer on the human experience and the efforts you made to build relationships with every member of your team, regardless of their background.

Answer Example
"I have a lot of experience with it. First, in college, I was an exchange student for a year in Costa Rica, and that's how I became fluent in Spanish. Then I pursued my secondary degree there and interned for a company there. Since then, I've preferred to work in multicultural environments. It's one of the things I look for in an employer. I want it to be a good fit."

11. What's your favorite food?
What You Need to Know
This is a fun, get-to-know-you question that will hopefully offer the interviewer some unique insights into your personality. One thing to consider when forming your answer is that Danone is a health-conscious company looking for like-minded individuals who already embrace their culture. So, if your favorite food is unhealthy, it's probably safe to acknowledge this, that you don't eat it every day, and that most of the time, you take your nutrition seriously.

1st Answer Example
"I'm pretty careful about what I put into my body. I spend time in different countries and learned how to make a lot of my food from scratch. I typically soak and cook my beans and make my own chicken stock. Even when I make something glutenous or decadent, I make sure I know what goes in it. My usual go-to is beans, rice, carne, and homemade tortillas. I even make my own salsas. Not only is it my favorite, but when I do a big batch of cooking on the weekend, that saves me a lot of time in the week to focus my energies elsewhere. It helps eliminate stress and makes sure my belly stays happy."

14. What is your greatest weakness?
What You Need to Know
We are all human with our own weaknesses, and Danone understands this. There is no reason to fear sharing your weaknesses. That's the point of this question. This tests your ability to dentify your growth opportunities and take ownership of them. However, be filtered. Having a professional filter is a positive trait, and if you lack the wisdom to be filtered and over-share your negative traits, the interviewer will identify it as a red flag. It's best to frame your greatest weakness as an asset in its own right. Being hard on yourself when you occasionally make a mistake can be viewed as a weakness. Similarly, this quality can be seen as a benefit to a company. Think about the self-assessments you may have done before previous performance reviews and consider whether any of those growth opportunities can be applied. Above all, exhibit self-awareness and a motivation to continually develop yourself and your career.

1st Answer Example
"I believe I could improve some technical skills, including Excel and PowerPoint. Currently, I am at a beginner to intermediate level; however, I would be more comfortable at an advanced level. This skill has helped me be more effective at my job and helped my team work together better than before!"

16. Why are you leaving your current job?
What You Need to Know
Be honest but filtered about your situation. Use discretion in what you share. If you are leaving because you had issues with your manager, take care of how you present it. The last thing you want to suggest is that you have issues with people in positions of authority. However, leaving an employer to further your career growth, especially if your current position isn't fostering the rate of growth you long for. Growth opportunities and broadening your skills are relatable reasons. Giving reasons such as higher pay or working closer to home will only raise red flags. Be specific about how this new position will help you take your career to the next level.

19. How would you handle an issue with a policy or procedure?
What You Need to Know
Adaptability is a desirable trait that every potential employer will look for when screening applicants. Danone strives to retain its customers' loyalty by improving their products and services while staying true to their mission and values. Therefore, changes in policies and procedures are inevitable as they continue to evolve. This means policies may change quickly, and you will be expected to adapt.
All too often, employees equate the routine and the status quo to their job security. Procedure changes can result in task paralysis, fear, uncertainty, and a feeling of victimization. This reaction suggests a lack of skillful communication and a lack of dedication. Therefore, the interviewer wants to know if you be a supportive team member, keeping your eye on the big picture while asking clarifying questions while backing up your leaders, or stir up dissent in the workforce, which can damage morale and productivity. That is the point of this question.

1st Answer Example
"I would first talk with my manager to make sure I understood the expectation correctly. I may have interpreted it wrong, or there may have been a miscommunication. 21. At Danone, we understand that conflict can arise when you're working closely with others on a team. Give me an example of a time you had to deal with an issue while working with others.
What You Need to Know
Responding to a conflict can be difficult regardless of your conflict resolution skills. It presents a complicated set of challenges, especially in a team environment that relies heavily on collaborative and functioning relationships. Share an example of a conflict within your department or between you and a co-worker that you effectively resolved. Showcase your high-level communication skills. Explain the situation and how your actions resulted in a resolution or a compromise. Avoid examples where you had to involve your superiors or failed to remain functional or objective. Labeling yourself as a victim may only convey that this is your outlook on life. Objectifying the situation and reaching an amenable resolution can go a long way in advertising your mediation skills and diplomacy.

He got some additional training to get on the same page as the rest of the team."

2nd Answer Example
"In my current position, there has been a concern with workplace bullying, and a particular group of individuals 'lead the pack,' so to speak. The situation became out of control a few months ago, and I had to involve human resources and conduct a few exit interviews. 23. What can you tell me about the mission statement and history of Danone?
What You Need to Know
This is another question that tests your company's knowledge. Again, you haven't been hired yet, and they don't expect you to know all of this by heart, but your knowledge should be cursory enough to articulate a competent answer. However, if you did memorize this, that would show the interviewer that you are already getting a headstart on your onboarding, which speaks to your confidence and ability to take a calculated risk. It also exhibits a willingness to go above and beyond. Put your all in and give them the answer they hope to hear.

In the 1920s, he sold his first yogurts in Barcelona pharmacies before expanding into grocery stores. Even before this, in the late 1890s, Nutricia - which joined forces with Danone in 2007 - was pioneering discoveries that have transformed people's lives around the world."

24. What challenges do you anticipate in this new role with Danone?
What You Need to Know
This question serves dual purposes. First, the interviewer is assessing your level of expertise in an environment such as theirs by evaluating how accurate your expectations are. Secondly, they are gauging if these are challenges you are working towards to further your career development. Lastly, they are evaluating your overall attitude towards facing these challenges. Interviewers at Danone want assurances that you understand the job description, are capable of navigating the expected challenges of their environment, and even more so, that you are looking forward to them.

26. When have you had to think outside of the box to solve a problem?
What You Need to Know
Innovation is integral to leadership. The interviewer wants to measure your preferred working style and whether it meets their required criteria. They want to know how resourceful you are and whether you exhibit outside-of-the-box thinking.
Some problems arise at inopportune times, and some can only be solved through creative and unconventional means. Whether the supervisor you'd normally lean on to solve a type of problem wasn't there to make a split-second decision or the solution went beyond the scope of the resource material you had on hand, you want your answer to exhibit determination. Describe your thought process while calculating the risks that led to your course of action. Some more urgent issues require us to think fast on our feet. They aim to recruit the best candidates, not the everyday status quo employee.
Being unique in your example can exemplify you as an attractive prospective employee. Offering trivial or commonplace problems you'd see in an everyday setting will present you as an average employee. Talk to the interviewer about a time you solved a problem creatively and the positive effect it had on your team. Make sure your example reflects respecting the chain of command - initiative versus presumption.

So long as you can qualify your results and experience level and align them with what they're looking for, you'll meet their requirements. Share with the interviewer your major career successes. What You Need to Know
This question offers you a chance to showcase your team mentality, leadership skills, and even your team-building skills if you have them. Team building doesn't always refer to assembling a team and setting the team towards a goal. It can also refer to bolstering an existing team and enhancing their collaboration and focus. Teams within every department must cooperate and communicate effectively. The goal is always to increase functionality.
Think of a time the systems and processes you implement for yourself were lent to or borrowed by your team. Any occasion where you led the team's efforts or direction would serve you well here. If you served a team in a more passive capacity, mention those kaizen contributions you brought to the team effort, highlighting how those contributions significantly impacted the overall team effort.

What You Need to Know
The efficient performance of any team requires clear communication at all times. This includes all forms of communication, verbal and written. The systems and processes of both the individual and the team heavily rely on clear and consistent communication to ensure productivity is maintained and to prevent rework. Focus on what you do to ensure you fairly pass the baton to the teams who will take over after your shift ends. Therefore, avoid offering any failings fellow teammates on other shifts have exhibited. What You Need to Know
Competing for increased responsibility exhibits ambition and a strong desire to further one's career. Mentoring and training others in the workplace exhibits true leadership. Think about how you have helped others in their professional development while putting the needs of your fellow teammates and the needs of the workplace ahead of your singular goal. 35. Tell me about a time you sought feedback for your work.
What You Need to Know
Proactively seeking feedback shows that you are emotionally invested in your work. It shows you care, are focused on your performance and potential, and give your all. Whereas cruising along, going with the flow, and assuming no news is good news suggests a work ethic of hoping for security and comfort in the status quo. It also may suggest a work ethic driven by insecurity and a fear of rocking the boat and drawing attention to one's lack of accomplishment or meeting the bare minimum. Neither suggests, 'Hire me.'
Detail how you have asserted your desire to grow professionally. Talk about what you have done to draw attention to yourself and where you exhibited the emotional intelligence to take feedback in stride and immediately measure your success against it. Constantly striving for professional growth is the aim here. You want to exhibit that you have professional goals and are driven and motivated to grow within your career.

"I take every opportunity to ask for feedback. Anytime our leadership performs a check-in with me, I take advantage of it. It's in those moments where the timing feels right. I know our team leaders have a lot on their plate, and I am sensitive to that. The last thing I want to do is distract them from the demands on their time. But I also won't let the opportunity pass by. So when they perform a check-in with me, I know the timing is right, that their focus is already on that, and I am always greatly for their insights and direction. That's why they call them growth opportunities, after all."

I schedule a time to review it with my boss, and then we discuss where I should focus my attention on my development next."
