"I had an amazing principal in elementary school. I remember struggling with transitioning to a new school, and she let me spend my breaks hanging out in her room, drawing and chatting. She cared about me. I probably wouldn't have made it through that year so successfully without her help."

What makes me passionate about being an assistant principal is that I am passionate about education. I am passionate about making a difference in kids' lives and impacting their education. Education is the cornerstone to future successes. Every child deserves a champion.

Stephanie's Feedback
Your passion for education really shines through, but I would suggest developing this response a bit further to distinguish why you are choosing to be an assistant principal, versus another role in education. Every child deserves a champion, but you could also be a classroom teacher, an interventionist, etc., and still be a champion. What is it about being an assistant principal that draws you in? How can you make an impact?

As an Assistant Headteacher, I will be involved in supporting the Headteacher in realizing the strategic vision of the school. Inspiring young people, motivating them to learn; regardless of background. I am also a member of the local community, my children are growing up in this area and currently attend a feeder primary school. I want to invest in the future of young adults who will walk the streets, socialize and shape the community that we live in, for the better. As a Lead Practitioner working across a multi-academy trust I have loved working with other professionals in order to achieve great outcomes for our students. As an Assistant Headteacher, I will contribute to the team which drives this school forward and achieves this aim.

Stephanie's Feedback
From this response, it is evident how passionate you are about contributing to educational outcomes in your community, and you really personalize this response by referencing your own family. My only suggestion for improving this response is to perhaps include a sentence or two that highlights how your past professional experiences have contributed to this passion.
Prepare for tough questions on student discipline, teacher evaluation, and crisis management.
