Entry Level Example
"I volunteered at our local hospital a few years ago, and they have stringent HIPAA laws that we had to follow. Whenever I was working on the computer, I made sure to lock my screen or log off when I stepped away from my desk. I never left charts, or other identifying information lay out for visitors or other non-clinical staff to see. Also, whenever I had a visitor ask for specific health information about a patient, I always checked the patient's HIPAA form to see who was authorized to be given that information."

Bank Teller Example
"As a teller, I often have access to customers' financial information, including checking or savings account balances. Protecting their financial information and personal data is a top priority. I value my relationship with my customers and would never want to jeopardize their trust by gossiping with colleagues or other customers or carelessly leaving my computer screen up or a document lying on my desk for others to see."

Branch Manager Example
"Because I process loan applications, I often perform credit checks on customers. We live in a small town, where everyone knows everyone, so I take great pride in protecting their credit check results and I never share them with anyone else in the bank that does not need direct access to that information. I also manage several employees and have a good knowledge of what employee data needs protected as well (for example, home address, direct deposit information, performance reviews, performance improvement plans, etc.)."
