Procter and Gamble wants to know how to motivate you. What work situations excite and motivate you?

      How to Answer

Every hiring manager wants to know how to keep you best motivated and excited about the job. Talk to the interviewer about what excites you and keeps you happy at work.

"I have a healthy competitive edge, even if its a personal competition. For me, I am excited and motivated by winning, whether that be winning over a new client, exceeding my KPIs or being recognized for a job well done. I am also motivated and energized by a strong team that supports and challenges one another. I believe that the work culture at P&G in and of itself will be a strong motivator for me; I love the idea of being surrounded by team members all working toward mastery with strategic focus, seeking to be the very best and working with interdependency. That sounds energizing!"

      Michelle's Answer

"I get excited when new challenges are presented in the workplace. This could include a new program, a new customer initiative, a sales contest, or even the training of a new employee. A fresh problem to solve or a fresh obstacle to conquer is highly motivating and exciting for me, which fits well with the Procter and Gamble team environment of challenging convention and reinventing the way you do business to better win in the marketplace."

"I am a competitive person by nature, so healthy competition is something that always pushes me to do my best even if I am competing with myself. Exceeding my KPIs, winning over a new client, or just being recognized for a job well done. Also a good team that challenges and supports one another is something that energizes me further to push and improve upon myself."

      Cindy's Answer

Great! Being competitive and working well in a team are both valuable assets. Nice work.

"I really like to take the lead and have control over what I do. I also like to do a variety of things and be autonomous."

      Marcie's Answer

This is a great response because it's direct and honest. Clearly, you like to work independently and to be in charge, both of which are great characteristics. Does money motivate you? Do praise and recognition motivate you? Do learning and growth opportunities motivate you? These are other motivations that you could also mention and choose to discuss as well if any are applicable to you.
