"I'm very goal-oriented, so once I understood the scope and responsibilities of the role, I would focus on getting to know each member of the team I would be working on. I would set goals for 30, 60, and 90 days and initially, I would focus on training and onboarding so that I could learn as much as possible as quickly as possible. If there were urgent projects in place, I would jump in and support wherever I could to support the team. I would then seek to understand the department's goals and what my manager's expectations were for me and implement those KPIs in my weekly and monthly goals."

"I completed my internship with a Fortune 500 company last year and was one of 30 interns in the marketing department. We had several social media campaigns and projects that focused on employee spotlights, product highlights and testimonials, and the company's sustainability efforts. I learned many valuable skills throughout my experience there and my proudest achievement was winning intern of the year as a result of nominations from my peers and leaders."

Change is par for the course with Procter and Gamble. When have you had to adapt to change in the workplace?

"I understand the need for change and being able to adapt and be agile in the workplace. When I worked in retail during high school, I had to adapt to change in a number of ways. Each week we had changing goals; for example, one week, our target may be to hit five new retail charge accounts, and the next week the goal may be twenty. Also, we would set up all of the mannequins and seasonal displays, but corporate would often stop in or email us and want the entire floor redisplayed in a matter of 24-48 hours, so we would have to work together to get the job done quickly. It was a fast-paced environment, but I really enjoyed it. I found that being open to change, keeping a positive attitude, and working together with those on your team to embrace and overcome the change, were all helpful strategies to manage."

Being able to adapt to change in the workplace is a crucial skill to possess and this is especially true at Procter and Gamble with their constantly evolving consumers and competition in the marketplace. Your interviewer needs to get the sense that you are fluent and adaptive in your work and can be a positive influence when major change inevitably happens on the job at Procter and Gamble.

"In my current role, there are a lot of turnovers when it comes to our management team. I have had to adapt to three new managers in the past four years. With each new manager I've had to work with, I took time to schedule initial 1:1 meetings to discuss workload, work preferences and to get a feel for how I can best work for the new manager. For a company like P&G that values strategic focus, innovation, and being the very best, I'd imagine that team members move up and around a great deal within the company. I'm fully prepared to handle that kind of change and adapt to both new team members and changing market conditions."

"In my previous role at a high-growth tech startup, the sales organization was restructured a number of times, from a new boss to new teams and territories. This can be very frustrating if one doesn't approach it with the right frame of mind, but I was able to thrive there. In this situation, if all team members are acting in accordance with P&G's value of doing what is right for the business with integrity, that means we'll all be ready to take advantage of developing opportunities, being nimble, and capitalizing on market changes with strategic focus. "I think I had to do it all my life. I actually embrace change, which is why I decided to change my country for volunteering and languages of studies. I also had to manage a lot of changes like opening a new store where everything is new or dealing with a growing company where we change the way we do things regularly. I think that change is necessary in order for a company to grow and stay competitive."

"Since I've been a part of the company for a long time I've seen various people come and go, I've never had a problem adapting to new surroundings and having understanding for new colleagues. Showing them new stuff and explaining how some things work is all part of the change."

When you suffer a setback, how does that emotionally affect you and your work?

"In the workplace, if I suffer a setback, I usually take a step back and try to evaluate what caused it and how I can prevent it from happening again. If it's because of a mistake I made, I take ownership, try not to dwell on feeling frustrated or regretful, and I focus on moving forward and learning from my mistake. It's natural to feel upset when you suffer a setback, whether it's your fault or not, but it's important to be able to accept the situation and move on from it."

With Procter and Gamble's passion for winning, focus on accountability, and being the highest of integrity in their market segments comes a work environment that can be competitive and stressful at times. In asking this question, your interviewer wants to hear how you handle setbacks when they happen on the job and to hear about a direct example of a time that you did.

Just last month, an inventory misjudgment on my behalf led to an upset client. I took immediate action, contacted the client and apologized for the mishap, and let them know that I would rectify the situation as soon as possible."

"Setbacks happen no matter what, and for that reason, I try not to let them affect me emotionally in the least. I am a pragmatic thinker and stay focused despite challenges that come my way. I once had a colleague who described setbacks as "forward fumbles," which is a philosophy I have internalized and try to share with others. What looks in the moment like a setback can often, in retrospect, be a catalyst for change or an inadvertent step toward a successful outcome you weren't even able to imagine."

"I try not to dwell on it, setback is a normal part of the business world, I hold that it's up to us to learn from it, not suffer. I take pride in my work, although there is always room for improvement, I always try to make the best of the given situation."

Tell me about your experiences giving presentations in front of large groups. Would you be able to successfully give large presentations at Procter and Gamble?

"The bulk of my presentation experience comes from my time in school, where I prepared a variety of speeches and presentations in my communications class. I am comfortable speaking in front of groups and have experience speaking to small groups of 10-20 in my class and also in front of about 75-100 in the auditorium. I look forward to gaining even more experience in preparing and delivering professional presentations for clients and internal stakeholders."

A consumer product sales organization is driven by data and information and your role with Procter and Gamble may find you being a purveyor of that information for the organization. Whether you will be working face to face with customers/consumers or solely with fellow colleagues at the organization, your interviewer will be looking to hear that you are comfortable talking in front of large groups and presenting.

"In University, we had to present in almost all of our classes, and I had to present to groups of 30-50 persons. I also was part of the Expo Science fair where thousand of persons were present while I presented. "Having been a volunteer receptionist for the nursing home for the last year, I've sharpened my communication skills and would rate them a 9. I'm a good listener, often practicing active listening techniques in everyday conversations. I'm able to relate to patients, their families and friends, and coworkers and I treat others with professionalism and kindness in our interactions. I always maintain a professional tone, whether in verbal conversations, email communication, or instant messenger applications at work."

Whether you'll be working with external customers on a regular basis, a variety of large internal teams, or a mix of both at Procter and Gamble, communication is the key to success. "I recently graduated from X University with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing. I took several courses that I feel will add value to Proctor & Gamble, including content, social media, SEO, and email marketing. I did several case studies and projects actually on Proctor & Gamble, Unilever, and Johnson and Johnson and the different marketing and advertising techniques they use. Though I don't have formal professional experience in advertising and marketing, I did also support my local animal shelter but helping them fundraise and running their social media page to help cats and dogs be adopted into the community."

"I have always been fascinated with the correlation between marketing strategies and product performance. This is why I studied marketing and communication in college. I have a bachelor's degree in marketing, plus additional training in advertising methods from my current employer. "I plan to increase profitability by first understanding what the KPIs, goals, and expectations are for me on the team. Knowing what I need to do to ensure the team and company are successful is an important foundation. From there, I would ensure I had all the training and tools I needed to be successful in achieving that goal. For example, if the company used a CRM that I was unfamiliar with, I would make sure that I attended all of the training necessary to be effective in using the tool. I would be committed to my individual contributions and supporting the team to ensure profitability."

Procter and Gamble are first and foremost a sales-focused organization, bringing world-renowned products to a variety of markets worldwide.

"My junior year, I actually took a course on customer satisfaction in the workplace. The first recommendation would be to see customer feedback to understand better what they feel is good about the product and what they feel could be improved. It's important to seek that feedback and take action once you have the results. Asking customers their thoughts on a product or service shows that you care and value their voice. Next, listening to the customer and being empathetic would be another way to promote customer satisfaction. Whether a customer is voicing a concern or complaint or offering positive feedback, it's important to actively listen, not interrupt, and to truly seek to understand their thoughts. Lastly, I would recommend being proactive versus reactive. This means you anticipate the customer's needs and communicate potential issues or updates before they reach out to you about them. If you have a new product that could be of value to a customer, reach out to them and educate them and offer the service before they see it elsewhere."

From baby care, fabric care, and household products to a variety of grooming and personal care products, Procter and Gamble bring a wide variety of household product names to consumers throughout the world. Those are very well-known brands of cleaning products, and I know many of my friends and family use those as well."

"I see that you have worked for the company for several years. Can you tell me a little about your career progression and Proctor & Gamble and what you feel has contributed to your success?

Come to your interview with a list of prepared questions that help answer any unknown questions you have about the position, your potential future colleagues, or the organization as a whole.

"One question I have is if you can tell me a specific story that exemplifies the P&G culture? I'd love to hear more about how the corporate values of integrity, leadership, ownership, passion for winning, and trust come to life in everyday work situations. I'd love to hear about your experience with others on your team and how they live out those values."

"Did P&G ever think about selling re-filling boxes or buying out a company that does refills to target the more sustainable clients?"

"Thank you very much; I do have a few questions for you. First and foremost, what is the company's long-term vision for this particular role, and one year from now, how will you know that the new employee has been successful? What does that success look like?"

Do you feel performance should be rewarded over experience?

"While I do feel it's important to reward loyal employees who have remained at an organization for several years, I think that a pay-for-performance model is more motivating. This gives both new and senior employees the ability to earn incentives for meeting and exceeding expectations. This model also boosts morale, allows employees of all experience levels to align on company objectives, increases productivity and employee control over their earning ability, and can even attract and help retain top talent."

A philosophical question like this gives your interviewer at Procter and Gamble the chance to look into your own thoughts and values when it comes to how employees are rewarded with pay and promotions throughout their careers. While there is no right or wrong answer to this question, they'll ideally be looking to hear you say that performance is the most important aspect of consideration for employers when considering the promotion of staff.

Speak openly with your interviewer about your thoughts on how a company should value performance and tenure when considering staff for pay increases and promotions. "Both tenure and performance are important, but I do lean toward performance incentives. I feel that employees should be compensated, and rewarded, based on the documented value they bring to the organization. This approach is a strong motivator because a new employee would be greatly encouraged by being rewarded for performance, and this approach also facilitates a healthy competition with more tenured employees."

"This is a classic question, isn't it? Experience and company knowledge are so important and are certainly of value to an organization, while performance is the documented articulation of an employee's value to the company. I believe the best compensation and promotion programs figure out a way to honor both, with the emphasis on performance. Doing so encourages good employees to stay since they know they're valued for their tenure and experience. It also discourages people from getting so comfortable in a long-time role that they don't strive for their highest performance."

"I think both are very important. Performance is important to see results, while experience is necessary to structure. Thus, I think both should be rewarded."

"Both should be appreciated definitely, but performance should be rewarded. Simply because it pushes the person to do more and motivates it to go a step further for better results, it's a great stimulant and it sparks competition, at least in me."

We seek to hire those who want a long-term fit. What is your long-range career objective?

"I'm just entering the workforce, so right now, I'm focusing on finding a reputable organization to join that will allow me to learn and establish myself. I'd like to then expand on my skills and gain experience, and possibly seek out a mentor to as I continue to add value to Proctor and Gamble and the team. In school and during my volunteer experience, I often found myself to be a natural coach and mentor for others, so down the road, I would like to explore leadership and management opportunities."

Onboarding new employees is a time-consuming and costly endeavor and an undertaking that Procter and Gamble don't take lightly. In asking this question, your interviewer wants to make sure that this role will be a long-term fit for you.

Be open with the interviewer about your dreams within Proctor and Gamble on a long-term basis. What type of work environment do you dislike working in?

"I'm a very easy-going person, so I do well both working in an individual setting as well as in a group setting. When I was in school, I equally enjoyed working on assignments alone and as part of larger group projects. I did some interning in a slower-paced administrative setting and also in a fast-paced environment in the marketing department, and I didn't dislike or struggle with either. I'm open to exploring various work environments, and I'm flexible working in whatever setting would be required."

"I myself can work in any working environment, I am by nature highly adaptable, but I do dislike negative and toxic surroundings. Procter and Gamble wants to know how to motivate you on the job. What work situations excite and motivate you?

"I am passionate about quality control. I know our products must be safe for consumers, and I take that very seriously. I'm motivated when my leaders have high expectations of quality, and I'm part of a team that achieves and maintains excellence. I am most motivated by a team environment where there is a lot of collaboration and celebration of achievements."

While you get the opportunity to spend some face-to-face time with your interviewer, this will likely be the first time you are meeting them and first impressions can make a big impact on your candidacy. Throughout the interview, your interviewer will be getting a very good sense of your personality and how you will fit in with their team at Procter and Gamble. Personality and character are two very different things. The interviewer is looking for more information on your personal traits vs. your integrity. "I would describe my personality as approachable, energetic, and positive. I believe that, if asked, my current and past colleagues and supervisors would say the same about me. I would also classify myself as bold, in that I'm willing to take risks in order to achieve higher and better results, ultimately for the good of the company and the good of the consumer. Above all, I believe I exemplify integrity, which meshes well with P&G's goal of leading the charge in doing the right thing."

"It may seem like an odd combination, but I would describe myself as both logical and imaginative. I'm imaginative in the sense that I'm always looking for new ways to approach consumer issues and new ideas to test out. And then I'm logical in the sense that I want experimentation, data, and results to know for sure that what my imagination comes up with is truly feasible. I think my personality will fit well within Procter and Gamble's focus on innovation, mastery, and seeking to be the best."

We believe in strong work/life balance at Procter and Gamble. How often do you take work home with you?

"I am a hard worker and have no problem working extra hours in the evening or on weekends to meet deadlines or catch up on admin work when needed. If there is nothing urgent, I do try to set boundaries for when I am on my work phone or checking email after hours; that way, I can give my family the time they deserve."

If asked this question during your interview, you can be assured that the department you are interviewing with at Procter and Gamble prioritizes a healthy work/life balance for its staff. Ideally, your interviewer wants to hear that you have that ability to separate work and personal life because they know that a refreshed and happy employee is a focused and prepared one.

The majority of people will work overtime hours or take work home with them on occasion. Talk to the interviewer about how frequently you take your work home in your current position. If you do take work home with you, make sure to express that it is due to overachieving and not procrastination or poor time management. "Only occasionally. I make every effort to utilize my work hours efficiently so that the only time I take work home is when there is an extremely stringent deadline or some type of emergency. I would say that, overall, I take my work home maybe twice per month. Now, that's on the execution side, but on the ideation side, I can tell you that I'm constantly thinking about new ways to do things, new innovations to try, or new approaches to a problem, so that 'script,' if you will, is constantly running in my brain!"

"I try very hard not to take my work home with me. For me, it's very important to compartmentalize work and life and keep them separate so that I can give each of them my full focus at the moment. That means I have to be very disciplined throughout the workday, stay focused, and use effective time-management techniques to help me maximize my performance. This way, I'm meeting or exceeding goals, while still enjoying time with my family to disconnect from work and just be."

"Unless there is an emergency or tight deadlines that need to be respected, I really like to take the time to relax so I can be more productive when I am working."

"I try my best to fully utilize working hours and make the best of given time at work, but if the occasion occurs and the deadline must be met, there wouldn't be a problem to pull extra hours at home. To add I am that type of person who when doesn't work, some back thoughts still occur from time to time, and occasionally new ideas occur."

Despite more current trends, many consumer products have been tested on animals. What are your thoughts on this?

"I have read Proctor and Gamble's commitment to being cruelty-free and its support of ending all animal testing on cosmetic products globally. The company really does a lot by investing in alternate testing and partnering with international animal welfare organizations. I was extremely pleased to read this information, as I do not support testing products on animals either."

Beginning 40 years ago, Procter and Gamble began a journey of using research, development, and worldwide partnerships to find effective alternatives to animal testing on consumer products. Today, the organization is proud to be cruelty-free in not using animal testing on cosmetic products and is actively working to help spread this same vision. Your interviewer is simply looking to hear that you are aware of Procter and Gamble's stance on animal testing and what your own personal views are on the practice.

Discuss with the interviewer your thoughts on testing consumer products on animals. As long as it matches your personal values, be sure to speak highly of the actions that Procter and Gamble have taken over the years to end the practice of animal testing on consumer products.

"Science has come a long way, and the need to test products on animals is minimal, if not non-existent. Overall, I'm of the mind that products should not contain harmful chemicals and the more natural they are, the better. That's one of the attractive elements of the Procter and Gamble philosophy. I'm impressed that the company has invested more than $460 million in developing alternative, non-animal testing methods and is committed to getting them accepted by regulators around the world."

"Overall, I do not support testing on animals. I believe that science has come far enough that this practice is unnecessary. Consumers, on the whole, expect their products to be ethically sourced and manufactured in a cruelty-free fashion, and are even amenable to paying a premium for ethically produced products if that's what it takes. I believe my philosophy fits well with that of Procter and Gamble. I was so happy to learn that P&G does not test its products or ingredients on animals anywhere in the world, unless required by law."

"There is indeed a lot of controversy around animal testing. Personally, I am fond of all animals and don't really like this process, although I am aware it can't always be avoided. That being said, I was very happy to learn that P&G has invested a lot in order to become Cruelty-Free."

I believe that my formal education and intern experience have prepared me for this role, and I hope if given the opportunity, I can develop and grow with the organization for many years to come."

"Honestly, my career has progressed a touch slower than I would have once liked. I have held a couple of positions that didn't offer the growth and learning that I was expecting early in my career. However, I have bounced back nicely. I feel that this particular position at Procter and Gamble would take my career exactly where it should be for my level of education, experience, and ambition."

"I love this question, and I can't imagine that there are very many people who can say that their career has progressed exactly as expected. And if they can say that, it tells me they haven't taken very many risks or disrupted the status quo. Because of my entrepreneurial approach in general, I'm open to new opportunities and willing to take risks in order, ultimately, to enjoy greater success. When you approach your career in that fashion, you never know where it will take you - except on to greater challenges and success. "Since graduating, I've been very intentional about applying only to companies with good reputations and positive employee reviews. I made a list of companies with which I aligned my core values, then researched them on Comparably to learn more about how employees rate the culture and CEO. I was pleased to see Proctor and Gamble had a 4-star rating on culture and a 72% approval rating of the CEO. There were many comments about how well the company treats employees, the opportunities for professional development, and compensation. Those are all important factors to me and drew me to apply!"

As a very highly desirable place to work, there's a really good chance that your interview has reviewed a very talented candidate pool and is interviewing the highest qualified candidates. "I care a lot about the environment and was pleased to see that Proctor & Gamble does as well. I researched a lot about how Proctor & Gamble is taking action and was impressed by the commitment to make all consumer packaging to be recyclable or reusable by 2030! When a company takes the initiative to reduce pollution or conserve natural resources, it says a lot about their commitment to sustainability and sets the example for their employees."

An ethical company treats their employees and customers with respect, and leadership demonstrates integrity and honesty in all that they do, they are transparent with their employees, commits to sustainability, and takes ownership when mistakes are made. From researching Proctor and Gamble's website, it looks like the core values are integrity, leadership, ownership, passion for winning, and trust. Those are all core values that I align with and promote strong ethics within an organization."

I understand the value and innovation that diverse teams can produce because of the various backgrounds, experiences, and skill sets that people have."

"I am accustomed to being surrounded by people different from me and I am always happy to be connected to new people since my mindset is that the more you're surrounded by people of all thoughts I myself can learn new things and receive new hindsight on things I knew or thought I knew."

The consumer products industry is fast moving. How do you keep up to date on current trends in your line of work?

"Although I'm new to this industry, I have a strong understanding of how the market works and how quickly things can change. I read a lot in my spare time, so I'm always online reading relevant articles about various Fortune 500 companies and product and labor trends. Google often suggests related articles, so I read those regularly to stay in the know. I have also begun to network on LinkedIn and follow industry leaders so that I can keep up with changes."

To stay on top of their game in a variety of consumer markets, Procter and Gamble need to be continually innovative. Your interviewer knows that to be innovative, every member of their team needs to be focused and dedicated to continually improving their craft. With this question, your interviewer will be looking to hear that you would join Procter and Gamble with a growth attitude by always seeking continuing education opportunities in the future.

Being up to date on current trends is incredibly essential in the consumer products industry. "It's tough to stay up to date on current trends in such a fast-moving industry. I like to follow any blogs from the C-suite within the consumer products industry to get a feel for various company strategies and philosophies. I think it's also important to join professional organizations and travel to at least one professional conference per year. That allows me to hear from leaders in the field and to swap stories and experiences with those who hold similar roles in other companies across the world. Last year, I attended the AMA national conference and it was great to network with other industry professionals and exchange ideas."

We prefer to hire candidates who value post-secondary education. Do you have any post-secondary education or related training?

"I've only just recently graduated high school, and I'm looking for an entry-level position to get my foot in the door with a reputable and stable company like Proctor & Gamble. Once I'm established and settled into my role, I do have plans to attend my community college in the evenings to pursue a degree in business administration. Does Proctor & Gamble offer any sort of tuition assistance programs for employees?"

Your interviewer will be able to get a good sense of your formal education from your application and resume prior to your interview. Tell me about a time when you tried to encourage a fellow team member. Was the encouragement well received?

"When I volunteered at the animal shelter, there was a volunteer who was very passionate about finding animals their forever families, and she would often get discouraged when an adoption didn't work out, or someone returned an animal to the shelter. I would always try to help her see the positive in a situation and remind her of the good that she was doing every week that she came in and cared for the animals. It was important to remind her of the value of her efforts and how many animals she'd helped successfully place with others. I always reassured her that there was nothing she could have done differently and that she couldn't control other people or their behavior. She was always receptive of the encouragement, and I even overheard her encouraging another new volunteer one day, so that was a special moment to see the supportiveness be spread to the team."

Teamwork and leadership are essential to the success of any department and business unit at Procter and Gamble. To get a sense of how you can be a positive and influential member of their team, your interviewer would like to know that you can successfully motivate others without it coming across as condescending.

To show that you are a great team player, think of a time where your influence and encouragement had a positive impact on a colleague. Be sure to explain your mindset and thought process for encouraging your colleague and explain why it was important to do so. Make sure your interviewer walks away from your time together knowing that they would be hiring a positive influencer in you.

"Our business development lead was stressing out last month because she was only 88% to quota with just three days left in the month. As the BD Manager, I knew that I had some knowledge that I could pass along to her. I sat with her for a few hours, and we brainstormed some lucrative ideas to implement for quick results. She ended up closing the month at 104% and had an amazing ramp up to the next month. I would join Procter and Gamble with the belief that encouragement can come in many forms. In this instance, she just needed some fresh ideas."

"Having grown up in my career with some great mentors, I now try to pay it forward to my colleagues with the knowledge and skills I have developed throughout my career. A few months ago, my colleague was very nervous heading into a presentation to the board members of a large client. To start, I took the time to review the presentation and the data within it and gave my colleague some great suggestions on edits. Then, I had him do some dry runs of the presentation to me and I thought of some questions that might come his way during his presentation. He was very thankful I took the time to help him and his presentation went over great with the board."

As a manager, what is your greatest weakness?

"As a new manager, an initial weakness may be a reluctance for me to delegate tasks. I'm used to managing many projects and assignments, and I've become very efficient over the years as an individual contributor. If given the opportunity to lead, I would ensure I took the time to get to know each team member and their strengths and weaknesses so that I could make sound decisions on what tasks to give which team members. It will be important for me to delegate to maximize my efficiency and to give the team opportunities to grow and take on additional responsibilities effectively."

If you are being considered for a manager or other leadership type of position at Procter and Gamble, your interviewer will be looking to get a good feel for all aspects of your management style and the type of leader you will be to help project the organization into the future. "As a manager, I feel that my greatest weakness is in separating employees as quickly as possible when they begin to show signs that they are not going to work out. I have taken a couple of management training classes focusing on this area, and I'm also working with an industry mentor. I feel I'm improving in being able to objectively approach separating employees who aren't a good fit, in a way that is respectful to the employee and for the overall good health of the organization."

"One thing I've consistently worked to improve since my first management position is increasing the level of trust I have in my employees. For me, it was a difficult transition to move from a front-line employee to one who manages the work of others. "Definitely trust, specifically having trust in someone's ability to fulfill the requested task. "I'm junior in my career at this point, so I don't feel that I would be ready for a leadership role anytime soon. In college, I often naturally fell into leadership roles on projects in the classroom and when volunteering for campus events. For example, I led the sorority 5K one year and managed a team of 10 volunteers as we prepped and carried out the events. I enjoyed those roles and learned a lot of leadership skills during that time, and I think that coupled with the experience I will gain on the job in the next year or two, will help prepare me for a leadership role down the road."

Work volumes can become very high at our company. How do you handle a larger than average workload?

"I love to be busy and thrive in a fast-paced environment. In my first job, which was fast food, we were often short-staffed, so during an eight-hour shift, I might be responsible for running the register, doing dishes, preparing food, or cleaning the dining area. I found it much easier to get the work done when we worked together as a team and when we communicated effectively. Knowing our supervisor's priorities for us, then working together to share who was doing what, asking for help when needed, and jumping in and helping when someone else was behind or struggling was the key to success. I'm not easily stressed or overwhelmed, and when you try to maintain a positive and upbeat attitude, you'll find that it's contagious, and other employees are more likely to stay motivated as well to help get the job done together."

At Procter and Gamble, there may be times when a new product is released and the workload can get a bit strenuous at times. Your interviewer wants to be assured that you can handle the workload required of you in this position and that you will not become overwhelmed if/when workloads unexpectedly increase.

When workloads increase, stress levels do too and your interviewer is fully aware of this. In looking to hear that you can handle a large workload in a healthy and productive manner, try to give an example of a time where you had to do just that. "When I have a large workload on my plate, I do not stress over the tasks that are in front of me. Rather, I make a simple plan of which tasks are a high priority and which tasks are a lower priority. The higher priority tasks, I complete first. Through this system, I can focus on my tasks individually, rather than stressing out about the multitude of tasks ahead of me. With P&G's focus on interdependency, I also believe that I could reach out to team members and/or colleagues in order to effectively divide and conquer particular challenges that lead to a heavy workload."

"Whenever I feel overwhelmed, I try to take a few deep breaths, review my list of tasks and concentrate first on those that are of highest strategic priority to the organization - in other words, the tasks most likely to positively affect the company's bottom line. If I can put my highest expenditure of resources there, I'm more likely to make a positive impact on the organization overall. In my current role, we've faced a pretty major staffing shortage for over a year now. Our teamwork and communication are vital to ensure our success and the happiness of our customers."

"Planning is necessary when the work volume increases. Also, personally, I like to use the adrenaline to be more productive in the short term. After that, I like to meditate and take deep breaths to be able to concentrate better on the tasks at hand."

"A completely normal situation in the business world. For starters, I would divide and define tasks based on the volume of work and level of priority. Naturally, I would do the higher priority tasks first, the ones that would show the most effect on the company, and then gradually move to the next and next."

Our environment is fast-paced and challenging. How do you determine priorities when you have multiple projects due?

"During my last semester of college, I had several extensive capstone and writing assignments due. At the start of the semester, I reviewed the syllabi and used different colors to highlight dates on my desk calendar when assignments were due. I also broke each assignment down into manageable milestones and planned those out on my calendar so that I would stay on track and I could budget my time wisely and not be stressed at the last minute trying to get everything done. I would use a similar strategy in the workplace by speaking with my manager about the priorities for that week or month and then breaking those tasks and responsibilities down into smaller tasks that I would complete or delegate where necessary. It's critical that deadlines are met, and being organized and communicating regularly, will help ensure all projects are done on time."

In the fast-paced world of Procter and Gamble, where expectations are high for all staff, the ability to multitask on the job will be critical. Your interviewer is asking this question to get a sense of how you work through times when you have many things going on at once with success.

What are your salary expectations?

"As a new graduate, I'm open to negotiating. Base salary is important to me, but the total rewards package, including medical insurance, retirement options, and education benefits are of equal interest and importance when considering an offer."

"Currently, I earn a base salary of $30,000 per year plus a potential 20% annual bonus. I want to stay in the same range or gain a slight increase. I was not able to find out the current range of salary for this position, can you please put some light on it?"

"Well, the salary for this job usually ranges between 50 000 to 80 000$, so considering my portfolio, experience, knowledge, and even IQ report which were all provided with my application I think 65 000$ would be fair."

"I can't give an exact number, I would say somewhere below the average when taking into consideration my experience, also I am not fully aware of all the responsibilities the positions brings, as I hold that has a major role in defining a salary."

How do you deal with distracting coworkers who stand in the way of your progress?

"In my volunteer role, I was responsible for answering the phone, checking email, and answering chat messages from the website. Another volunteer often lingered in the office and would want to show me videos, which was very distracting. I was upfront with this volunteer and let them know that being trusted with the position meant a lot to me and that I needed to focus my attention on my tasks. I also shared that I only had two hours a day to complete all the tasks, and answering the chats required a lot of attention and focus so that I could promptly provide accurate information. I told them I appreciated their friendship and would love to socialize with them after hours or on our breaks, but when at my desk, I needed it to be quiet so I could focus on my responsibilities. They appreciated the conversation and admitted they hadn't realized how much of a distraction they had been. I believe that being honest and direct sometimes is the best way to communicate in a situation like this."

Even the most well-meaning coworkers can distract you from getting things done at work from time to time and you've likely run into this situation at some point in your career. The funny and entertaining coworkers who like to chat online and send YouTube videos are often the ones who can get in the way of your productivity if you let them. In asking this question, your interviewer at Procter and Gamble wants to hear that you can handle these colleagues in a healthy manner and that you don't hesitate to speak up if a situation gets out of hand.

"If I have a distracting co-worker, I will highlight the distraction right away while remaining kind. I feel it's always best to nip issues in the bud before they get out of control. Overall, I'm very good at setting personal and professional boundaries, so this has never been much of an issue for me. I've found that if I'm clear that my time is currently allocated to another task, people respect that and are happy to catch up and be social at another specified time."

"Honesty is one of my values, I would nicely invite the person to talk to me during our break or after work and mention that I have important deadlines to meet."

"It's something that often occurs, I would kindly reject any distraction and suggest to catch-up over lunch or perhaps after work hours. I have a mindset that when it's a business hour to be fully focused on work."

How would you handle a situation where your supervisor did not properly communicate information to you?

"In college, I had a class that I initially struggled in because of a lack of communication from the professor. Many times, assignment due dates would change, or information was sent out via email, but only to some of the class and not everyone. I asked for a one-on-one meeting with the professor to address my concerns. I was kind and gentle in my approach, but I shared that the lack of communication at times was causing confusion and errors. I gave specific examples so that we could talk through them together. I asked to verify that he had my correct contact information and if there were better ways for me to look for information, whether on a forum or other posting areas. The professor was going through some personal issues and was overwhelmed with his workload. He apologized and committed to providing updates and information in a timely manner and ensuring everyone was on the communications being sent. I think it's always important to address the person directly to better understand what isn't working and how you can work together to solve the problem."

Communication breakdowns can easily happen in the workplace, especially at a large employer like Procter and Gamble. No matter how you answer the question, your interviewer wants to hear that you can handle a breakdown in communication in a healthy and respectful manner.

If at all possible, talk to the interviewer about a time when you have handled a supervisor who does not interact with you in a way that you like or that is clear to you. "Whenever I have had a supervisor who does not properly communicate with me, I first try to learn their style of communication and emulate it with them. I did this a few years ago with a new manager that joined my current team. I also try to ask a lot of questions and document instructions in writing as much as possible in order to make sure I'm understanding. If hired at Procter and Gamble, communication with my manager would be a top priority from the start."

"I try to be independent and find as many answers as possible on my own. As much as I would love to always work with supervisors who are great communicators, that is not always a realistic ask. I also try to repeat instructions just to verify that I'm hearing and interpreting what my supervisor really wants. I'm the type of person that will join Procter and Gamble with the ability to ask questions for clarification and to take direction easily."

"First, I would review every information provided and what is to be done to be able to ask precise questions that I need and save both of us time."

"Usually, when given a task I try to repeat the task from the standpoint of the supervisor, and in case of any misunderstanding request a different approach in clarification where I would write down the main points of the task. Ultimately I think a person should learn the most by himself, we can't always count on our supervisor to guide us all the time thru the given task."

Tell me about a time at work when your integrity was challenged. How did you handle it?

"I once had a coach that I witnessed berate and curse at students. It was a tough situation because I was afraid of retaliation, but I knew the coach's behavior was unacceptable. I was able to schedule time with our school's guidance counselor and report the incidents anonymously. Quickly after that conversation, the school began investigating the matter, and he ultimately got fired from the school. It was a challenging situation, but I did the right thing by speaking up for others and reporting the verbal abuse by the coach."

"Last year our manager went away on vacation for three weeks. Some of my co-workers wanted to falsify our timesheets to reflect overtime hours that we did not work. I disagreed and was able to convince them that it was a bad idea and certainly not worth being terminated over. Following that weekend, I had two coworkers approach me and thank me for convincing them to do the right thing."

"Early in my career working in retail, I was on cart duty in the parking lot and I found a bag with a large amount of cash in it in the parking lot. While some people may have been very tempted to bring the bag to their car and not report it found, I did the right thing and reported it to our GM right away. I found out later that it could have been life-changing money, but I'm glad that I made the right choice and reported it."
