I was working with a group of nurses on another project and while at their desk I noticed a large stack of papers. When I asked them about it, they said that they had to download and print client information and enter it into our system. This was a red flag for me. They only entered the information when they had time so the information was potentially out of date and there could be manual entry errors. There was a HIPPA issue with patient information left on the desks. This was costing the company money and resources for little return. I met with a developer and we came up with a solution to grab the information from the external system and have it uploaded directly into ours. The nurses were so happy and very grateful for the new process. Leadership was thrilled at the cost savings."
