This is a common interview question which aims to answer how invested you are in your profession. It is basically asking how informed you are in your field, in your industry, and most importantly, in what is happening internally and externally with the company you work for. The more your teammates rely on you for that information, the more of a reliable employee you'll be. It is those who are most trusted to represent the voice of the company. So, before your interview, explore Burns & McDonnell's Insights & News webpage, and read up on their blog. Or, as they say on their website, "Stay in touch with the things that matter most- in your industry or on your projects."

"Well, I try to be and am rather well-read and keep up to date. Especially on company news. In fact, I did spend some time reading up on Burns & McDonnell's website and enjoyed the content there. I am always reading, and I attend local lectures any time there are any. But we're a rather informed and up-to-date group, and we're always sharing what we've learned or read with each other. So I suppose we all keep each other informed."

When preparing for a video interview, regardless of which device you decide to use, ensure you've got the strongest Wi-Fi signal possible. Make sure your microphone is working properly. Close any unnecessary browsers or applications, silence notifications, and get your computer ready. Silence your phone. Ensure you are in a relatively quiet room free of distractions with as little background noise as possible. If you're not home alone, give everyone a heads-up that you are about to enter your video interview and ask them to be respectfully quiet.
