The interviewer is asking about feedback from your most recent manager to gain insight into your work performance and how you handle feedback and criticism. It can also provide an idea of how you collaborate with others and your level of self-awareness. It is crucial to be truthful and offer concrete examples of feedback received and how you dealt with it. This highlights your ability to accept constructive criticism and progress as a professional.
Every manager has a different approach to giving feedback. Some prefer to save it for the performance review, while others dish it out regularly. Your response to feedback is much more important than the feedback itself. Even if it was negative, if you can take it as constructive criticism, you can improve yourself and your skills. Let the interviewer know the feedback you received from your most recent manager and how you reacted to the feedback.

"My manager told me I was spending too much time on the unimportant details in my patient notes. I realized that I can be such a perfectionist that I lose track of time and am often hyper-focused on things that just aren't that important. I'm learning to prioritize particular patient details over others while still spending a good amount of time with my patients and not making them feel rushed."

"My most recent supervisor commended me on how hard I worked and gave me additional responsibilities beyond what I was hired to do as a junior tech. The added responsibilities were a huge compliment, and I feel those actions speak highly of my work ethic and talent."

"I frequently received and gave feedback in my last job. I proactively scheduled a weekly touch base with my manager to seek feedback and connect on pressing issues. The feedback was often positive, and I would take the lead navigating situations I was unclear on by enlisting the expertise of fellow medical professionals."

My last manager was very detail oriented and he commends me for having such quality however he was not comfortable with how much time I spend writing feedback on the tech note column for each patient. He considers some information unnecessary considering that we have to be on time or at least not more than 30 mins behind schedule.
Marcie's Feedback
Okay! So did you adjust how much time you spent doing this? Make sure to explain that you welcomed his feedback and adjusted your methods to improve yourself. The interviewer wants to see that you learned from the feedback. Also, emphasize any positive feedback you received so the interviewer has a good impression of you and the work you do. Great job!

I haven’t received any feedback from my manager in years.
Marcie's Feedback
Hmm. It doesn't sound like your manager is very involved! While no news can be good news, in this case, can you think of any positive feedback you've ever received from a manager that you can mention here? Or feedback you've received from a colleague? You could also bring up something nice that a patient has said about your bedside manner too. The point is to show the interviewer that others have spoken highly about your abilities.
Prepare for technical scenarios and patient interaction questions that radiology managers expect.
