With Ramsay Health Care's reach across multiple continents, they have a very culturally diverse workforce. To succeed with Ramsay, you need to be able to work with a culturally diverse group of colleagues, and your interviewer will be looking to hear your ability to do so. If you have direct experience working with a diverse team, talk about your challenges and how you overcame them. You also want to mention the benefits of working for that team. If you don't have direct experience working with a diverse group, let your interviewer know how you value diversity and the benefits a team can reap from it.

"In my current role, I have the opportunity to work with individuals from very diverse backgrounds, and we all bring our unique sets of knowledge, skills, and abilities to our team. This really does benefit our team and the care of our patients in a big way. One of the nurses I work with is from China, and she had been trained as a nurse there before coming to work with us. She brings a unique perspective to patient care, and I've learned a lot in working closely with her. Honestly, I have not experienced any challenges working with a diverse team."

"As a new graduate, I haven't had a diverse experience in the workforce, but I feel like my college experience has prepared me well for working with a great team of diverse individuals. The university I attended hosted students from all over the world, including the United States, Europe, Africa, and Asia. My experience in working with other students from across the globe opened my eyes to the fact that every person holds a great deal of their knowledge through their unique experiences. The only challenge I faced was difficulty understanding some of the thicker accents, but I understood what they were saying over time. In working on group projects with people with different upbringings than myself, I learned quite a bit, and I look forward to continuing this cultural learning with an organization like Ramsay Health Care."

Yes, we have staff from lots of different backgrounds. The challenge can be language or accent difficulties. The benefit is that it creates a diverse workplace and people with different backgrounds have lots to bring to the team.

I haven't had experience in the workforce, but during my undergraduate study, I had the chance to join an International Student Exchange Program in South Korea. I was exposed to various cultures, not only from South Korea but also from people from all over the world. The challenge I faced during the experience was the language barrier, especially due to the thick accent, and the difference in habits and points of view. I learned a lot and also the experience has helped me to increase my adaptability skills and understanding of diversity.

Jaymie's Feedback
Great! You took the right approach by acknowledging that you don't have formal work experience, then gave a very relevant example that still answers the question appropriately.
