Honesty is a study of perception and intentions, but this question isn't about subjectivity or the logistics of honesty. This question is intended to evaluate your self-perception and integrity. The semantics of your answer will reveal any hidden intentions, so choose your words carefully. Attest to your integrity and what your word means to you. Describe your approach to emotionally confusing situations and how your integrity guides your responses. Explain that you see great value in transparency while consistently respecting the chain of command.

"I would love to give myself a 10/10 for honesty, but truthfully - nobody is 100% honest all the time. I will give myself a nine because I always do my best to be as honest as possible."

On a scale from 1-10, I would rate my honesty a 9. I try my best to be genuine and forthcoming with my mistakes and opportunities for growth. At the end of the day, we are all human and no one can be honest 100% of the time.
Marcie's Feedback
This is a strong answer because it shows that you take honesty and integrity seriously, which the interviewer will definitely appreciate. By not rating yourself perfectly and admitting that no one is perfect, you reiterate how honest you truly are! To further strengthen your answer, consider talking a bit about why you think honesty is important and/or provide an example of a time when you were honest at work.

I would rate myself as an eight or nine I strive to be a completely genuine honest person. I take accountability for any mistakes and learn from them. My values are solid.
Marcie's Feedback
It might be best to rate yourself as a nine or ten here (instead of an eight) since you'll want to assure the interviewer that you're very honest. Speak with confidence and emphasize your integrity. Also, is there an example you can include here of a time when you were honest with someone? You might also mention that sometimes you use tact so as not to hurt anyone's feelings. Build out your answer to make it more impactful to the interviewer. Good job!

We are not perfect, so I will say I’m a nine on a scale of 1-10 for honesty. I always try to be as honest and trustworthy as possible not just at work, but in my daily life, I believe that being an honest and truthful person will take you a long way in life.

Jaymie's Feedback
Not that 9 is a bad score, but it may be an unintentional red flag to the interviewer. Perhaps you could add something about not being honest with a friend if you felt it would come across as hurtful (maybe they cooked you dinner that wasn't enjoyable) or something similar so they understand why you didn't rate yourself a 10.
