The reason it is important to set up realistic expectations in an interview is to ensure that you are the right candidate for them, and that this is the right job for you. For many conglomerate corporations who have global interests, candidates open to international travel are of value. Out of respect for their time and their resources, honesty is best, especially when setting up realistic expectations.
It is natural to want to play your cards right in an interview. Try never to deliver a hard answer to a complicated and nuanced question. Rather, open it up to further discussion in order to prevent any deal-breaker moments. If you're not sure if traveling for work fits into your lifestyle or your career goals or expectations, express that you are open to discussing the matter further, but you'd need more information to ensure it is conducive to your lifestyle and career goals. This approach then opens things up for asking clarifying questions and learning more.

In those 6 years of being on a global team, I took probably a couple of dozen trips to Germany where our global HQ is located. Therefore international travel is really not a big deal for me and I am used to being required to travel for work. Esp, since I have been a virtual employee for the past 8 years and with that, comes more travel typically.
