I would gladly take it up and cover for them. That's what good teammates in a highly functioning team do for each other. I would expect the same if I was the one sick. As for the line, I'm a worker and ok with what is put in front of me when I know everyone is giving it their all. If someone wasn't pulling their weight on purpose, it can really drive down team morale and would need to be addressed as no one likes to be taken advantage of.
