It is one thing to identify a kaizen opportunity towards innovation, and it is an entirely different matter in how you go about communicating a suggested change. Talk to the interviewer about a time you identified an opportunity, how you gathered information to build a sound case for your suggested change, and how you went about presenting it. If they decided not to take your suggested course of action, explain why and how you came to respect that decision, and what you took away from it.

I revamped and updated our site safety program when I worked at our Transportation Command Center office. The existing processes were outdated and not kept up. I worked with our corporate EHS team to evaluate the site and spearheaded the changes. These included ergonomics evaluations, fire drills, CPR certifications, and site safety meetings. I sought out volunteers and pushed people to get involved on the team as well.
