Facebook Interview Questions & Answers
Tell us about an instance where you lost track of time in the best possible way.
How to Answer
The interviewers want to know about an instance when you got carried away, forgetting about the time at work, because the task you were doing was so much fun. Enthusiastically discuss what makes you lose track of time in the best possible way. Perhaps it's brainstorming in meetings, onboarding a new client, writing code, creating a new sales deck, or training a junior employee on a new skill.
"Last month, I spent an entire week training a new employee on Python, and the time flew by. I knew I was a good teacher and mentor; however, I didn't realize how much I enjoyed it until then. My boss appreciated my passion for training the employee and sought other opportunities to perform more training tasks. So, I would say that training and teaching others makes me lose track of time in the best possible way."
"Last Saturday, I started an online course on video and optimization. The day flew by so fast - I loved every second of it. For me, the best way to lose track of time is when I am studying and gaining a new skill."

"Last week I was reading a book on incident response in the library. I got to the chapter on investigating windows systems and found myself reading about how to find malware on a device and all the different places in the operating system it could hide and I couldn't put the book down. By the time I got to the end of the chapter, I realized 3 hours had gone by and the library was closing."Stephanie's Answer
This is a super interesting question, and your response really captures a lot about your curiosity and the ways you're open to continued learning! This is a wonderful example, but I suggest adding a closing sentence that re-states what this shows about you. For example: "My ability to lose track of time at a library shows my natural curiosity and commitment to continued learning, especially in the areas of _____________."Was this answer helpful? "It just happened when I was researching Facebook. Reading through many aspects of facebook's business, the context of today, and the team's work - studying and thinking about all of these things were so interesting. I experience this these days with every single company that I am researching - I love this process of expanding my knowledge about the business world by applying the frameworks, concepts, and knowledge I've gained especially last year."Stephanie's Answer
