How to Answer: What questions do you have for me?
Advice and answer examples written specifically for an Amazon job interview.
2. What questions do you have for me?
What You Need to Know
Come prepared with questions for your interviewer, but be sure to ask the right questions. If you have any questions at the outset, try to answer them yourself before your interview. This will indicate how serious you are about pursuing this opportunity and will ensure you don't ask any questions you could have answered for yourself. The more thoroughly you prepare for your interview, the more you learn and the more questions you'll have. As Jeff Bezos says, asking 'why' is equally as important as asking 'why not.'

"I live in Istanbul and Amazon is just starting to expand here compared to many European countries. I'm very curious about the reason for this and I would be really glad if you would enlighten me about it.
I'm also very curious about the workflow in Amazon. The companies in Istanbul always try to find the best employee and try to get that employee to do all the work by paying more. For example, I had to manage almost more than 30 people. I am very curious about the workflow here."

Having a question or two ready to ask makes it clear that you've given thought to how you would fit with the company you're applying to. I appreciate the question about their recent expansion into your country; however, I think you can clarify your workflow question further. Rather than talking about other companies paying more to get work done, consider focusing your question on productivity and efficiency by saving something like, "I've worked for companies with various workflows. How does Amazon balance workloads so that workflows are efficient and productive?"

These are great questions, and you have just the right number of them. (Asking around three is perfect.) Your questions are effective because they involve the interviewer and their personal opinions, memories, and preferences. This is a great way to engage the interviewer and leave a lasting impression. Good job!
