Amazon was founded by Jeff Bezos back in the 1990s. I remember when it was purely a bookstore, and I became a customer back in the 1990s because it gave me access to books I couldn't otherwise purchase in Australia.

Jeff Bezos in 1994. He left working on Wall Street to take advantage of the booming Internet. He began selling books online, which led to everything online. Eventually, in 2005, he introduced Amazon Prime as a differentiator, and most importantly a company called AWS.
