Signing a non-disclosure agreement is standard in the software and technology industry and is required for all Amazon employees. If hired, you will likely become privy to trade secrets, pending patents, and other innovative projects that must remain confidential. Talk to the interviewer about your willingness to sign an agreement. If you are currently under a non-disclosure or non-compete agreement with your present employer, now is the time to discuss that.

I understand the significance of a non-disclosure agreement, especially in the software industry. Although I am not under any agreement at this moment, I did sign such documents earlier in my career. I am comfortable signing an agreement if it is required.

I understand these agreements are part of doing business. For example, at the moment, I'm under a confidentiality agreement with my previous employer until March 2022. I'll be happy to review and sign an agreement with Amazon as part of my employment.
