Question 3 of 30

Would you accept a staffing project from a potential client who was acting unethically?

"In the past, I have worked for staffing agencies that will take work from anyone and everyone. However, I refuse to accept just any client. For instance, when meeting with a prospective client for the first time last month, they were boasting how they have burned through multiple staffing agencies in the past year because their work environment is challenging. I interpreted this as a warning sign and conducted my due diligence. It turned out that the company had many recent complaints on a popular employee review site regarding harassment in the workplace from company leaders. I called the prospective client the next day and let them know that I would not be accomodating their staffing needs. My desire is to join an agency like Adecco with a reputation for engaging legitimate clients who have great job opportunities for my valued candidates. From my research on Adecco and the topics we have discussed today, including The Adecco Group's stance on diversity, equity, and inclusion, it seems that our core values align nicely."

  • 3. Would you accept a staffing project from a potential client who was acting unethically?

      How to Answer

Responsible staffing services and talent management agencies like The Adecco Group need to protect their reputation, which includes screening potential clients in various ways. A diligent firm like Adecco, before accepting a new client, will look for:

      - A history of unexplained employee turnover
      - Evidence of previous lawsuits or open complaints from past employees
      - Reputation of discrimination or inequality in the workplace
      - Poor health and safety records
      - Consistently low employee reviews

Show the interviewer that you will never put the reputation of Adecco on the line just to engage a new client and reach your targets or metrics.

      Entry Level

"During my internship with Staffing Agency ABC, I was been trained to be selective with clients, and I would like to continue with this practice. We had an intake questionnaire that the Account Manager went through with clients, so everyone underwent the same prescreening process. Then, the Account Manager conducted an in-person meeting whenever possible so that they could physically see the environment in which our successful candidates would be working. Could you share with me how The Adecco Group approaches vetting new potential clients?"
